I suppose you could equally argue that Matt played the 'nice' card in the way he was so 'gracious' in defeat just as he was a successful gymnast prior to Strictly!
But, hey ho,......I think they are BOTH nice people who were equally gracious and happy for each other in both success and defeat.

The trouble with Mat is that he dances for himself, he doesnt dance for the audience or feel the music as Kara does. I never saw much ranting when alicia won yet Kara is soo much better than she was, a totally different class.
Kara is the best dancer of the two finalists, so glad the "Ladies" vote didnt ruin another series.

Kara is nice, as is Matt. Kara got emotional as did Matt.
Kara has some dance experience which helped and Matt had lots of gymnastic experience helped him.
You could apply the same argument to both people if the winning position was reversed.
Both nice people and talented dancers, only one could win and that was the one the public thought edged it

Agreed. A decent bloke got beat tonight by a very good dancer who knew how to play the public. Endless magazine and newspaper articles; a 'romance' that has virtually been put to bed tonight - purely fabricated to squeeze more votes from the gormless. Right up to the end the drama of the injuries. The timely dyslexia documentary. And the tears, oh the tears...
She is a great dancer - and had she left it to her dancing alone I would have said she deserved to win. But she didn't,; she had to employ every trick in the book to ensure the win. And that's pretty ingracious.
But no matter. Matt will continue to work hard, he has plenty strings to his bow. But Kara? Well, she's a third rate actress who will most likely disappear from view as quickly as her 'relationship' with her dance partner.

I'd agree with the final result personally, thought that they deserved to win, showcased the dances well, the right amount of dancing and drama throughout the programmes. Wouldn't have minded Matt and Aliona winning as Aliona is pleasing to the eye, but Kara and Artem were deserved winners for me, in my totally independent opinion.
Yes, I was gutted that Matt didn't win, but I'd have been even more gutted if Kara hadn't. They both deserved to be in the final and the right couple won. Everyone was so gracious, what a wonderful night. What on earth am I going to do now on a Saturday night

and not everything is marked by mistakes; artistic impression, grace, links etc are all taken into account. You could dance a 'perfect' dance and it could still be as dull as dishwater

All 3 showdances were dire, Matt's was no exception, it was very disjointed and there were errors in there too, it wasn't as clean as it could have been, mainly because there was too many different things in it, it didn't flow.
The final was 4 dances, IMO Kara's Rumba was better, her AS was better, showdance both about the same, her waltz on a par with his Paso and that would probably have been better if she didn't have the problem with her arm.
She won so the majority of people who voted obviously thought she was better.
Matt himself said he would have voted for her, and he is a genuine bloke so I don't think he made that up

Not at all...if you look back...you will find that the BBC prevented Kara from training from the outset because of her dance background.

What a nasty, ungracious remark. Clearly a bad loser when Kara, was, without a doubt, the best dancer of the series!. Kara totally deserved to win and she did not use her tears or her injury to win either!
