I had looked forward to this final, but i think they have all danced better on other weeks.

I thought Pamela was the best on the night, but i am still pleased with the winner.

The whole night was slightly underwhelming. I wonder if it had anything to do with the showdance being in the first half.

YES, that was all wrong - the showdance should be the spectacular finale!

Pamela was the best.

End of.

yes, but seeing as all of them were shockingly cringeworthy crap I'm kind of glad they weren't

None of the showdances were brilliant imo, certainly when compared to some others in the past. But then again everyone is human.

Rather a flat final.

All three show dances were poor and should have featured last anyway.

Quality wasn't actually as high as I expected, which is probably because quantity was obviously regarded as more important.

They were expected to do too many dances. The Showdances were underwhelming because they simply didn't have enough time.

I think Pam was the best on the night. It's a shame she didn't get to perform her AT.

The judges were a big part of it.

With The X Factor, anyone who gets to the final - talented or not - is lavished with praise, and no one really minds. It works for TV.

The Strictly judges deflated the atmosphere by being so mean with their marking. Although it might have been dishonest, they should have been a lot more generous with their marking to give the occasion an uplifting, apex-like feel. As it was, they made it seem like any other week, and made the finalists look sort of like they didn't deserve to be there.

I agree, too many dances to learn, the quality suffered big time. With the quality of dancers that were in the final, it's a shame. Will they learn a lesson? They'll probably have to learn 5 dances next year.

Why put them through four dances in one week? You wouldn't treat donkeys like that...

Watched every series and for the first time, very underwhelmed. Pamela and James were best on the night in my opinion.

I don't think the timing of the showdance was the problem...it was more that Matt's was awful, Kara made mistakes in hers and Pamela's was good but a bit safe so none of them 'wowed' as we all might have hoped.

I don't think the couples should have had to learn a completely new dance for the final (apart from the showdance of course), it just didn't fit in with the final at all. Although after all 3 lacklustre showdances I quite enjoyed seeing the couples do their favourite dance as their final dance.

I think it's a shame that Kara hurt herself so badly in the showdance, she couldn't dance to her full potential in the last two dances because of the pain, but they were still magical.

But yes, all in all, I was slightly underwhelmed, but the best dancer won for me and I will remember her dances for a long time. That AS tonight was just breathtaking.

I could not agree more, Craig was mean and Len was just a miserable old sod! As soon as Pamela went, the smile went from his face and he gave both Matt and Kara negative remarks and marked them both down. Both Len and Craig were just boring and mean and the only decent judges tonight with some decent remarks and scores were both Alesha and Bruno! It was a good job they were there, if not it would have been a real damp squid!

Kara is definitely a worthy winner!

I'm so glad the Show Dances were done early on, maybe the BBC realised how crap all of them were and decided to make a change?

They were disappointing showdances, especially as I'd thought 'great, we get to see all three!' - what a let down. But if they had been as good as one would have hoped, the impact would have been greater if they'd been right at the end. Alesha and Matt's was the perfect finish to the 2007series.

Yes I agree, the last half hour with the group dance, Kara and Matts final dances was great but the first 90 minutes was really underwhelming.

What are you on about. The BBC get nothing from the phone lines.
