Feel the same. Its only hope of survival now is if there is a major revamp, with ferret head finally being put out to pasture.

Can't really disagree. This has been my favourite series for three years but the final was very flat.

Am pleased for Kara and on the basis of her AS I think she's a deserving winner.

Loved that Matt was so gentlemanly.

Thought Pamela was very gracious also.

Shame it was a bit lame after the magnificent series.

No, the RSPCA would be right there.

The BBC have over-egged and overdone the last two weeks of what was otherwise an excellent series.

We really did not need more than three dances each!!

I think that you are spot on and the only shock was how the judges scored Pamela so high for such a boring, basic dance, which showed nothing different at all. James just played it totally safe.

But the judges got their comeuppance for voting so high for Pamela and I think that this was the reason she went out in 3rd place. I cannot believe that Kara did not get one top mark of 40, when she was clearly the best dancer but Pamela got the top mark 3 or 4 times. How on earth did that happen? So glad that the public spoke, which obviously totally peed the judges off, especially Len, who was blatantly peed off and miserable that Pamela and gone out in 3rd place and did not win. You could tell he was annoyed because he then had digs at both Matt and Kara and scored them lower!

Yes, Brucie is definitely past his sell by date! It is time he retired and let somebody younger take over with Tess!

They definitely put them through too many dances this week, especially after a long series. Kara was great in putting on such a brave face when she hurt her arm and still had two more dances to do! Quality would have been better than quantity in this case tonight! Three dances would have been more than enough to do. The three of them must have been exhausted. Even Artem looked tired tonight! After being such a great series it was a shame for it to finish with a limp rather than a bang!

I did think that the judges were particularly harsh in this final as they have in the past used it as an excuse to lavish praise on how well they have done blah blah..perhaps trying to spice it up a bit but was v surprised by Len in partic (man flu clearly kicking in )!!

Showdances should have been at the end to bring to an ''exciting'' finale..sadly not this time though cried with K & A doing the AS

I've watched every Strictly final and this one was, for me, as flat as a pancake. Although I think that Kara and Artem were excellent winners, overall the show was underwhelming.

I think the opening number - Eye of the Tiger didn't work well. I'd have preferred something more festive - dazzling and sparkling and full of excitement rather than a boxing style theme.

Then the showdances were a lot less than they could have been, so that was a letdown. I was expecting so much more from K & A. Artem's choreography this series has been brilliant, but their showdance was a bit of a damp squib for me. As were Matt's and Pamela's routines.

But the biggest wet blanket throughout the show, I thought, was the negativity from the judges. It took the shine off the evening.

The good news was that the voting got the best 3 probably to the final.

A lot of accumalated problems though hung around its neck.

There's too much to do and too many dances in the last week to do them all well.

Trying to make the show more entertaining, and confusing the judges and rules about what should be happening doing so, leads to controversial judging (Kara's foot, Matt's gymnastics) and dance light routines.

We had a repeat of last year where Matt (Chris) tried to do something else on top of his dancing to win and Kara (Ali) had too much difficulty choregraphed for her to produce a perfect score. I don't think Kara ever got to Rachel's standard but I think she might have - which is a bit of a let down.

The better music choices and props support, that had helped the show look more entertaining before the final, seemed to have run out by the end.

Casting people like Matt and Scott with ongoing demanding jobs doesn't work. Scott ought to have been more competitive but ends up exhausted.

Whilst its true the show got credible finalists, it arguably also lost any journeys and much of the possible dancing competition before it should have. There is no surprise but very good, contender in the last 5 and the story content declines as a result. There is a price for keeping Ann and Gavin in, and its missing seeing how good everyone can be.

Yep, underwhelming
Nothing really wowed me, and I feel a bit cheated that we didnt see Pamela's AT. In previous 3 people finals the first one out got to do their showdance. Imagine if we'd been deprived of the bacofoil extravaganza??

To be fair to the judges though, if the showdances underwhelmed us then they would have been underwhelming for them too so surely it is right that they should say so.

I don't think 4 dances is any excuse - Alesha and Matt did 5 in series 5 yet both produced better showdances than any that were seen tonight. I think not doing enough weeks of 2 dances to build up stamina possibly contributed to it though.

I think Pamela was best tonight as well, although Kara's Rumba and American Smooth were sublime. Hope Pamela gets to do her AT on tour

Ooooh, that's a good point. They also didn't do group routines because of bloomin Ann Widdecombe, so never learned how to take shortcuts maybe.

I don't think it has ever been the case before where we have got to the final and they have had to learn a dance from scratch in addition to the showdance though. They should have started the 2 dance phase a week earlier to avoid that. OK, Widdy would have been screwed but she did choose to enter.

i think it goes without saying that all three contestants were always going to be nervous tonight, being the final and all...

..but kara proved to still be the best dancer of all of them even though she was clearly suffering with hurting herself near the first section of her show dance (being such a great girl she didn't make a fuss about it though). she did amazingly considering. if it wasn't for that i think she'd of been able to give even more. makes me wonder why the people criticising her for some mistakes aren't taking that into consideration....oh wait...i remember..it's coz they're bitter. doh!

Just finished watching it. Completely disappointed. It was one huge mess with too many dances. Even the showdances were meh. When they announced the winner I couldn't even get excited.

No, I don't agree. I thought the judges could have judged fine without being so negative, especially as this is the final.

I think it was always going to be hard to live up to the expectation. Its the first year for a long time that it hasnt really been obvious who the winner was going to be. The showdances were an abomination, perhaps its time they did away with them all together. I also think that having to learn a showdance AND a completely new dance aswell as perfect 2 dances done previous was a bit much and add to that the nerves it was bound to feel a bit flat. Added to that Kara's arm injury definately affected her and that was a great shame.

I dont think the judges should score in the final at all.......its completely superfluous and probably not comment either.

I'm happy Kara won because I am a Kara fan, but in my opinion no-one danced their best and it was all a little disappointing because they had danced so well before.

I was just so disapointed that James and Pammie didnt do their AT as a farewell dance....

Agree with you.

The producers need to look again at the format.

It could have been a really good final but somehow wasn't.
