The judges tonight
Len-
Cranky like a small child fighting for attention!! His prejudices against the choreography overshadowed his comments on the actual dancing; Bruno - His usual self but very gracious and encouraging remarks - giving his final report to the three finalists. Craig - Having a ball, being really nice - but picky and still refusing that 9 for the rumba - did he have an inkling or was he planning the 10 for Kara's showdance? Alesha - Not only looking good but sounding good, and her remarks were great - well received by the contestants, and I think she has earned her spot as a permanent judge on Strictly. OK she was marking high tonight, but so were Craig and Brunor - about par for the Finals night. Next year - Crag for head judge, please. |

The contestants performed new dances in the Final for the first time ever. Matt's Paso just looked a bit odd to me and Kara's Waltz wasn't perfect. Are the judges expected to lose all objectivity in the Final
![]() It's Artem's fault that Kara didn't receive better scores in her Rumba and AS; they should have made changes, but they didn't. |

Far too many tens. Even Craig broke his golden rule as the dance was not seemingly technically correct.

Time to sack the judges
Strictly has been ruined by the judges this year, sadly they seem to believe the show is all about them.
Len, Grumpy and not consistant. Had clear favourites all the way through. Aleasia, Why? Bruno,Look at me, look at me. Another with clear favourites. Craig, Did well for so long then blew it during the final. Please BBC don't spoil your flagship show, clear out the judges table and maybe next year have a panel of six (none of this years please) and use any four from the six each week. |

I agree the judges didnt appear in the best of moods but I think they actually perform a useful role and I agreed with most of the comments tonight
I would like to see Craig as head judge if Len retires, be interesting to see who would get the judge vacancy though |

Their negativity ruined the show for me tonight. Poor show.

Let's be fair, the judges (I call them "The Village People" they are such extreme characters), are there for a purpose and do it well.
Cause controversy, get the public going, get reactions from the competitors because of some of the ridiculous marking, etc., etc., To the BBC, it's a "show" first and anything else a poor second. |

The judges make it exciting and bring both a sense of controversy, gravitas and excitement about it. They all (to one extent or another) have experience of dance and are able to make opinions - often on an informed basis ... That said, ultimately it is a public vote, not a strict dance competition (if it was then the judgement would be solely that of judges) and it is an entertainment show |

Len Goodman should go and pickle his walnuts - permanently. What a grumpy bum! I wouldn't put him near the milk.
Bruno - an over-the-top, hyperactive show-off. Saving grace - he can be very funny. Alesha Diction - a very beautiful woman who spoils herself everytime she opens her mouth. Such an expert - studied ballroom and Latin for three months. On this criteria I would like to see Kara as a judge next year. She is a far, far better dancer than AD. Craig - too picky by half. He should be judging the how the celebrity dances - not the choreography. Same goes for Pickled Walnuts. No It Takes Two on Monday. ![]() ![]()

True , and if they didn't mention obvious errors and mark accordingly, there would be more people compalining about fixes and more voting against the judges and not for the dancing.....
This is going to sound as though I am contradicting myself ... I do think it is the judges role to judge, and they did do this as there were errors tonight from all three finalists. That said, there was inconsistency in the voting of the judges ... That I found disappointing |

No, I don't agree. They could've judged fine without being so negative.

But that's the desired "pantomime element" being displayed, didn't you hear the "Booos!" from the audience?

Pantomine is entertainment. There was nothing entertaining about the judges negativity tonight.
Comments I recall include: "the best samba by a man on strictly" "amazing" "you put your all into it" "great lines" "superb musicality" etc etc |

I'm disappointed in Craig.
It was so predictable he was going to give Kara's AS a 10 regardless, and Len quite rightly caught him out - basically that routine was just another go at the freestyle. |

the judges did their job as professionally as always.
They let us know exactly who they wanted to win.

although if you are marking on a purist ballroom basis it would be an appropriate mark ... I would have said it was more an 8 or 9
