Ah thanks. I'm wondering if the midweeks are likely to change at all. Is it at all possible for Surfin Bird to come back from such a deficit?

Basically, very very unlikely.

Sales as of now, Im predicting something like (because of Thurs-Saturday would be the biggest shoppng days)

Matt- 400,000
Trashmen- 85,000

I agree, but then so did Leon Jackson so it doesn't actually mean anything.

Really? Trashmen that low? And what about the bad weather - would that have affected Matt's sales much, or have you already taken it into account?

The weather would have affected all sales, not just Matt's. Not many people were in town at work because of the snow, on what could have been Matt's/Trashmen's biggest selling day.

And yes that's just my prediction, but seeing as it's only on 44k, I don't see it getting past 100k in my opinion. Matt will stand at 400-500k i think.

Well, the Surfin Bird is on downloads only, and they seem to be having a mass download on their Facebook campaign page at the moment
I know the Rage Against the Machine campaign got loads of sales on the last day, so I was just wondering if it was at all possible for the Bird group to come back from such a midweek deficit. (Although the Rage people had a big lead from the start, which I guess made all the difference)

Well there you go, that further increases Surfin' Bird's chance to close in on the gap, because people don't need to go out and buy it

I love Family Guy and that episode and moment is in my Top 5 all time, but even I (the biggest fan of the show) would not download that song over Matt's . I could easily just watch the episode over and over

The song is terrible! That's why I'm hoping tomorrow's charts will reflect the No. 1, 2 and 3 of the midweeks

Do you think Matt bought Rage Against the Machine last year?

I went in two oxford street hmvs yesterday... Matt's single was flying off the shelves pretty comfortably. Would be surprised if it's not no 1 next week as well.

If they don't, it just means that the sales were affected by her leak.

Me too! I physically hurt myself laughing, every time.

It's also on the first Just Dance Game on the Wii. Bloody good fun n' all. But not a song I'd ever buy.

Oh, that's good news! I was worried the bad weather would be severely limiting the amount of physical sales.
Let's just hope that Surfin' Bird can't make up that midweek deficit.

There's still 15 minutes left to buy, get yourself over to Amazon and get Surfin' Bird for only 49p!

With tonights mass download, the Bird is storming ahead!

Good News Guys, Surfin' Bird is No 1 on the Amazon downloads chart. The campaign has also highlighted a number of other places to buy so it's likely we'll be top on them too, due to the last minute surge.

The only place we might be struggling is on iTunes, because people who have heard the word, know they can generally get nearly two MP3s elsewhere for the price of one on iTunes. This makes the iTunes chart very unreliable.

It would seem that The Trashmen are in more of a battle for #2 than they are for #1.
