DWTS show dances are better than Strictly
I'm surprised at the poor standard of ours really!
I'd be happy to see the finalists perform one dance less, so they have extra rehearsal time for the Showdance - to tidy it up and make it really special.
And wardrobe do the couples no favours with their odd creations.

It was great and It won her the series, even though Giles Marini was a better dancer.
Generally the DWTS show dances are indeed much better.
I LOVED Jennifer Grey's show dance from this year. It's obviously got the Dirty Dancing elements in it but even without the watermelon(!) it's a great show dance.

I didn't like it -- it was all too manic... and that girl's dance ability is nowhere near Kara's level, in my opinion.
The best showdance I've ever seen is Tom & Camilla's.

I agree with this.
hmmm - she's not just a gymnast, she's an olympic gold medal-winning gymnast
and has certainly plumped up a bit!

I agree with you 100% - Tom's moves I can still remember, and Camilla's great costume.
I don't know, it's horses for courses, I think. I don't think that the way they do it in the US would work over here, just as our format wouldn't work over there.
They have a bigger pool of stars to choose from, celebrities tend to be less inhibited, they also have far wider dance experience than our celebs and there have been some total ringers on DWTS. Americans don't tend to have the embarassment at showing off gene that Brits do and so can go for it far more comfortably than we can.
I like watching DWTS but I wouldn't like it to be my Saturday night main show.

Kara is a better dancer, but her showdance was also too manic and she didn't pull it off. Matt is a great dancer and he did his acrobatic bits well but the transitions in between were awkward due to too many acrobatic bits.
I thought Shawn did it perfectly, in time, did all the acrobatic bits in time as well despite it being manic.
