Strictly is brilliant - but what changes would you make?

If you were the executive producer what would you do to (in your opinion) improve the show next year?

I'd have 14 couples over 12 weeks with no eviction in the first week but with a double if required in the semi-final (as this year).

The 14 professionals I'd ask to take part would be Aliona, Artem, Brendan, Darren, Flavia, Ian, James, Katya, Kristina, Lilia, Matthew, Natalie, Ola and Vincent.

I'd ask Anton and Erin to join the judging panel in the place of Len and Alesha. Bruno and Craig would remain. In terms of presenting I'd ask Gethin Jones to replace Bruce and Claudia to replace Tess.

I'd ensure that all the couples would dance the standard dances by the time they reach the final; in the Ballroom they'd be the American Smooth, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Tango, Viennese Waltz and Waltz. In the Latin they'd be the Cha Cha Cha, Jive, Paso Doble, Rumba, Salsa and Samba. In weeks one and ten there'd be two dances (one ballroom/one latin). The Argentine Tango would be moved back to being a Semi Final dance alongside the Charleston. In the final they would dance their highest scoring ballroom, highest scoring latin, lowest scoring overall and the freestyle.

The Results Show would remain on Sunday's but would be live. All star performances must accept a professional couple dancing with the music.

There would be a Monday It Takes Two after the final to deal with the aftermath.

Sorry, I didn't mean this to be so long. These are my ideas for change - what would yours be?

Get rid of:

Tess, Bruce, Len, James, Brenda, the 'dance troupe', Sunday results show

Keep:

Artem, Natalie, Katya, bring Ian back, bring back proper pro dances

Stop:

Gimmicks, props (particularly CHAIRS), four dance final

Start:

Ensuring they all do the standard dances (including samba) - if you're going to knock one out make it the salsa
Being clear about the rules from the start and sticking to them

Get rid of... Natalie Lowe, Brendan Cole, Alesha Dixon, Len Goodman, any further mentions of widdys presence on the show as something are best forgotten...

Keep... Anton as a pro, Brucie and Tess, Craig RH, Bruno, the 'tessanine', the props as long as used within reason,

Bring back... Ian, Darren, Lilya, Brian, the dance off

Introduce... Karen Hardy as a judge, a final ITT after the final to wrap it all up properly

Get rid of Jared, keep Artem and Robin

Replace Jared with Ian

Replace Bruce with Anton and Alesha with Erin.

Cut the final to 3 dances, best ballroom, best latin and showdance.

Have the showdance last and the winner re-performs it at the end of the show. ( although thankfully those showdances weren't last this year)

Have an ITT straight after the final

Be very clear and consistent on the panel about the rules - what constitutes an illegal lift, how much of a dance should be spent in hold, the amount of time that is allowed in a dance for 'faffing about' or using props.

Results show shown on a Saturday, none of this pretending its live on Sundays.. I can't stay away from the spoilers.

More pro group dances, get rid of the 'nameless' (apart from Ian and Darren) troupe

As long as the beautiful Aliona sticks around I don't care what they do...

Maybe Claudia and Matt Baker for next year's main show hosts. Or Steve Jones, he and Claudia do, after all, present the Comic Relief dance show.

After his appalling comments to some of the contestants this year, I would like to see Len replaced. Replaced with someone who has a younger, more modern understanding.

Well, what the hell, for nostalgia's sake:

12 couples at most.
No more VTs. The producers don't play fair - sorry.
Dance off up to QFs (to make the results show have a purpose).
Live results show.
A limit on props (perhaps they can have a quota of 2 dances per couple or something).
Stricter, clearer rules (is a foot off the ground an illegal lift? What are the requirements for an AS? etc) and more severe marking for rule breaking.
No tied scores. It would be better if the scores were ditched altogether and the judges just decide on an order of preference after all the dances are finished.
Ditch the troupe.
Spilt up Alesha and Bruno.
Ban Len from DWTS or remove him from the judging panel. The jet lag makes him unbearable.
Possibly a fifth judge (could be a different 'guest' every week perhaps) so Len doesn't have the 'final say' in the dance off.
Give Bruno a mug of camomile tea just before the show starts and top it up periodically Either that or tie him to the chair!

I think that'll do for now.
