Post final It Takes two?
Yadilloh
19-12-2010
Why is there no post final ITT? It comes up every year, but I'm really feeling it tonight. It seems odd that there's nothing after the immediate winning euphoria. Without the forums it'd be awful. I'd like a post final show, ideally with Claudia to get out all those things I didn't even know I wanted to know, but even one like the X factor has would do. I can understand it when the final is right before Christmas, but there's a week spare this time and I'd like to hear Kara's take on her injury, Pam & Matt on their finals and see some backstage footage. It always feels like unfinished business and the BBC can't wait to put it in the past.

Actually what I'd really like too is a repeat of the whole series on some obscure channel so i can watch it all again. I always seem to 'lose' parts of it on my shared Sky+

Me too! It always seems to be such an anti-climax to have nothing after the final.

Yes, agree the final does end abruptly and it would nice to have a live ITT on BBC2 afterwards

Agree 100%.

They would probably do it if It Takes Two was a BBC3 show rather than BBC2, but even so you'd think they could take up some of BBC2's schedule just one time for a post-final show!!

They should have taken heed from when people have complained about it in the past.

I agree, it would be great to get reactions afterwards.

I'm surprised the BBC are missing such a good audience grabber.

I really want to know about Kara's wrist and if she's okay

I have thought this for years. I agree it seems a rather abrupt ending to such a big build up... you've got the publicity build up/paper speculation, that starts around the end of July. The 3 month long series build up to the final, with almost non-stop 'backstage highlights and gossip' ad nauseum on a daily basis. And then an abrupt nothing after the final, except perhaps for some superfluous Christmas special that was recorded weeks before the final and therefore makes no reference to any part of the series that has just happened. I've always thought the best thing to do would be to have an hour long final episode of ITT on following Monday evening.

This comes up every year.

I'm not sure that there'd be anything left to put into another ITT. All the VTs on ITT during the last week and also during the final cover most of it. Another interview with the winners to last half an hour??? All the questions regarding Kara will no doubt be answered in inteviews with the press over the next few days. Possibly a reaction show on the red button, in a similar manner to the Xtra Factor (like the Beeb do with some of their sports programmes), straight afterwards might work.

Well I think they could always fly over (with Bruno and Len) and appear on Jimmy Kimmel (which could get his show shown here in the UK)

Win Win. . .

It makes so much sense to have one.
They have an aftershow for The Apprentice!

I agree. Lets hope the BBC listen to the viewers requests for a after Final ITT. I think I will email them directly on this and maybe if enough people make a comment about it they will consider it for next year. Lets get in touch with the BBC and hopefully people power will win out.

They had one in series three. They had backstage footage of the final, a winners interview with Darren and Lilia, a chat with Len, and then they cut live to rehearsals for the Xmas special which was being filmed that day. It worked really well.

We need a campaign to get one for next year. Come on BBC.

I agree entirely. It's weird that the three best contestants don't get the farewell interview that the others do. And I'd love to hear Karen's comments on the choreography etc and just generally get some 'closure' on the whole thing!
