Xtra factor-Why did they stop talking to the contestants
Why did they stop talking to the contestants this series on the xtra factor? I remember they always used to have them on the sofa towards the end and chat to all of them. It has always happened and I think it happened in week one this year but stopped after that.
Any ideas? |

So they could have more time for judges calls and talking to random "celebrities". It's why I stopped watching the Xtra Factor. The 10 seconds on stage they got with Konnie after the live shows just looked awkward and uncomfortable. I used to enjoy watching the behind the scenes stuff. It was nice to see the contestants looking happy and relaxed and was a great way to get know them. This year, we got a load of panto in the press but very little real insight into their personalities

No clue but it really made the xtra factor alot worse after they did it
That was possibly my favourite part. Also hated when they stopped giving options for the calls and just had pre-selected ones (Every single ****ing one of which supported Wand Erection) |

The contestants on the sofa part was the main reason for watching (for me) seemed a little pointless without it. Maybe because they started doing those weekly video diaries they thought it wasnt necessary? Despite Konnie's questionable presenting skills, I do think she had a harder time as she was left to fill in alot of the programme with pointless interviews and 'fill in' stuff.
I really hope they bring it back next year, but not sure that will happen unless people complain. |

well they did interview them on Xtra factor but just at the beginning instead at the end and probably shielding them from the phone ins.

Maybe because this year's contestants didn't really get along with one other? I know a lot of the supposed 'feuds' between the acts were probably tabloid myths but I think it's clear that this year's contestants weren't as friendly with each other as previous years.

I preferred having more Judges Questions over chatting to the contestants to be honest.
I only ever watched the first 25 minutes of it though, as soon as judges questions were over I switched off, couldn't handle Konnie. |

Probably didnt help Konnie told them all they were going on tour the first time they talked to them together lol.God knows what she'd told them next
But yeh seemed a bit strange. And then suddenly they had judges questions in front of the audience. Why?!?!?! Had enough of them in the live shows didnt need to involve them more |

I thought Xtra factor was the best when Ben Shepherd (sp?) was the host. It hasn't been the same since then. I did love Holly as well, but Ben was definately the best!

The main reason that I watched xtrafactor was to see the interaction amongst the acts. I haven't bothered with it this year

I agree the whole series of x factor went downhill after they stopped talking to contestants on xtra factor. I feel like I don't know any of the contestants properly.

Is it because Konnie can't be trusted to say something that is incorrect to them ie; everyone on tour.

Xtra factor always drops items from the show with little or no explantation.
For example, in 2009, they did "contestiators" for one week before dropping it, and this year they dropped the segment where they show baby pictures of contestants after week1. I think it was dropped due to the contestants not reacting well to Konnie, after all on week 1 she said they were all going on the tour and asked Aiden stupid blackpool questions. |

probably because all the contestants hated each other this year.
what if Matt had punched Wagner on live TV?! then they wouldn't have got their winner. |
