When I watched this live last night I was bittely disappointed. It appeared to be jerky, disjointed and under rehearsed. The costumes were appalling and it all made for a huge flop.

However, I decided to rewatch the dancing parts of the show again last night cos I couldn't sleep, and paid particular attention to their showdance with the knowledge that I now had that Kara had damaged her wrist during the dance. In fact when she did the back flip, which was about 30 seconds into the routine. Up until that point her timing was perfect and the moves were flawless. You could clearly see she winced when she came off that move and from then on it became sloppy. She missed her move where she cartwheels and gets thrown through Artem's legs by the one arm.

The fact she managed to keep going, and do a reasonable job all the while smiling, shows what a trouper she is. Most of their other moves involved some weight being put on the arm she had hurt. The pain she must have been suffering clearly impacted on the rest.

What a shame, I would love to see the routine without her suffering an injury, cos I reckon it would have been a show stopper. BUT they would have to get rid of those hideous costumes and get something more sylish.

NONE of the showdances were very good. Matt's did nothing for me and while James and Pam danced beautifully it was very disappointing in the originality stakes.

It is clear that Kara injured herself and I suspect you are right about when it happened. I think she did well to complete the dance and is a very worthy winner.

I hated their outfits and that spoiled the dance a bit. Still glad they won, although I liked Matt - I thought K&A's showdance might ruin their chances.

The showdance was a shame. I was bitterly disappointed but despite that, she was still the best dancer and deserved to win.

I liked Kara and Artem's outfit, but agree with the OP about that injury and how it went on to affect the dance. It had the potential to be a magnificent showdance, particularly when you compare it with the other two showdances!

Hope the wrist is not too painful and will not ruin their date today.

I did not like any of the show dances. Matt and Kara's (and I adore Kara!) were full of acrobatics and not enough dancing, Pam's elegant but tame and boring.

Tom Chambers. for example, now that was a show dance!

Pamela & James's dance was :yawn: and the other two couples 'dances' were more like the floor exercise you see on athletic programs. Just how much dancing did M&A and K&A actually do in their showdance?

I agree and I was curious that there was no comedy in any of the routines. Pamela's was emotional and nice on one level ... but it lacked the wow factor.

Kara's was disappointing but much less so than Matt's: those attempts at breakdancing ... What WAS Aliona thinking of?

Yeah K&A and M&A's costumes were awful - don't know what they were thinking!

Their showdances were both all over the place - no reflection on the dances that they had been learning over the past few months.

I actually liked Pamela's. Ok, it wasn't, like, wow, but at least it was appropriate for her age and skill, and demonstrated what she had learned.

I actually thought she should have come second instead of Matt, based on that performance.

But I am so glad Kara won. She was clearly the best dancer overall. I really liked her and she always looked great.

I disliked all three show dances equally. I also disliked their placing in the programme order. I honestly don't have a positive thing to say about any of them!

Agree with other posters that none of the showdances wowed me - very disappointing. A great showdance should have comedy, skill and watchability.

The showdances were awful, trainers and acrobatics, and in the case of James and Pamela boring I wasn't over enamoured aith any of them.
