Repeated Dances- Which one did you prefer?
Taz93

So Matt repeated VW and Samba.
Kara repeated Rumba and American Smooth
Pamela repeated her VW.

Did you prefer their 1st or 2nd performance of the dance?

IMO:
Matt's- prefered the 1st one because it was in Blackpool.
Kara- prefered her semi final rumba- I liked the pink dress more than the white one and her hair was better long for the dance. Also her starting position for the semi final rumba was different and IMO better than last night's.

I prefered Pamela's second VW. I appreciated it more and understood the 40/40.

I thought Matt's Samba was much, much better the second time round. I rather enjoyed it! His VW bored me again I'm afraid. He's just not able to convey romance and tenderness through his dancing.

Pamela's VW was equally moving both times. One of my favourite dances of the series.

I preferred both of Kara's performances the first time round but a lot of that had to do with her outfits (just goes to show that they can make a difference). This was especially the case for her AS where the darker dress she wore in Blackpool helped enhance the mood of the dance.

I agree. I have to say I wasn't convinced Pamela's VW (I can't spell the V word deserved a 40/40, but the second performance won me around.

I do agree regarding Matt- I found his VW a bit boring.

I must add It's a shame Pamela's AT wasn't seen.

Preferred Matt's Salsa. All the rest were the same as first time for me or not as good.

Definitely preferred both of Kara's dances first time round. I think her 'look' was better for both first time and the AS was spoiled by the fact that she was injured. I could see her trying to mask the pain and she couldn't give it 100%. I admire her for even trying.

Loved Jamela's VW It was even more special and magical the second time round.

I loved Matt's VW and liked his samba equally both times round - and loved the music and costumes for the VW.

I liked Pamela's final version of her dance more than the semi-final one, but I've no idea why.

I preferred Kara's semi final version of the rumba. I think wearing her hair loose in the first version strangely made a big difference - but both versions were utterly brilliant.

Matt - the first samba (Blackpool) was the best, because of the 'wow!' surprise element of the tumbling, but the second VW was better (and the first one was good!) because he looked more relaxed.

Kara - I preferred the originals of both the rumba and the AS - more atmosphere, better dresses. But I did prefer Artem's dancing in the second rumba - more emotional.

Pam's VW: just as the OP said, I didn't get the 40 the first time round, but I did the second time.

I think Kara's rumba was the best repeat of the night. She actually improved on her previous performance in my opinion.

Ooh, good point. I'd better go back and check both versions!

I don't think any of the dances improved with a second showing, tbh. Pam's was great on both occasions. I thought Matt was more relaxed in the final than he had been in previous weeks, but he wasn't not relaxed (if you see what I mean) the first time he did the samba or VW. I preferred Kara's dances first time round and think that was half to do with preferring the costumes the first time around, and half to do with my own terror watching the final, which got in the way of enjoyment a bit.

Matt's Samba was STREETS ahead of the first one, it was just so much better - how it got the same score I will never know.

I thought Pamela's Viennese Waltz was a bit meh the first time around, but it was beautiful last night - truly. The singer did a little bit of a better job as well, which always helps.

I preferred Kara's Rumba the first time round - but that was because I, like Sid, preferred the first dress

I prefer Matt's Samba in the final. He looked far more relaxed. His VW was better second time too, but I still don't really like their VW (Matt appeared to be unable to do a 'dark, romantic' dance very well).

Pam's VW was truly amazing the second time round. The first time she danced it she didn't nail the 'acting' part. She looked more sincere the second time round.

Prefer Kara's rhumba the first time round, not because of the outfit, but the her hair (!). As a man, I find her more fanciable (hair wise) the first time. Also, second time round, I started getting distracted by Artem, he looked like he's going to 'do it for real' this time, and that made me a little jealous.

Kara's dances after her injury was NOT good. It was a pity, I could see her waltz was a perfect 40 material. Never really liked their AS, and I think Len gave one extra point because they were fleetingly 'in hold' in the routine which I think Len missed the first time.

Matts Samba was much better. Loved it. he should have scored higher. His VW was equal to the first time - he doesn't do romantic acting well at all.

Pamelas VW I felt was very overmarked first time but worth 40/40 last night. Much improved.

Kara's rumba was improved technically but I loved the original pink dress and 'ready for bed' hair. I agree Artem was on fire in that dance last night. Her AS was better first time but, considering her injury, it was brilliant last night. Her first dress was better for it too but as a standalone dress, last nights AS was my favourite dress of the series.

Oh, no no Taz!

I much preferred Kara's final rumba - that long false hair was awful and made it so you couldn't see her facial expressions. I loved her hair up do that she had in the final - preferred the white dress too. But that's just me....

Loved Matt's samba in Blackpool but felt the emotion more in the final when he danced his VW.
