Oh, I used to find Alan Davies really attractive, but now I just think he's a bitter tit (after listening to his footy podcast), that might have something to do with him being an Arsenal fan and me being a Chelsea fan. ”

Jeff Goldblum, Leonard Cohen? I like clever, sexy and slightly battered. Laughter is delicious.

You can confirm to your lovely husband that Mr Cooper was a rare being - gentle, funny and sweet. In the world of media that is rare. The only other one who came close to Tommy was Sir John Mills

Yes, I also thought Alan Davies has something, but now he is an arse. He has a reputation for being impossible too

My aunt did a lot of silver service waitressing at Royal Variety Club dos back in the day. Tommy Cooper was always a favourite amongst the waiting staff, lovely chap by all accounts. Now Max Bygraves, if I was him I wouldn't have eaten the soup

Frankie Vaughn was lovely as well, went to college with his son

Oh, I always thought John Mills seemed lovely, Richard Attenborough too, very old school but still humble.

I've finally thought of a bald man I find attractive - Ross Kemp. I'm sorry!

Oooh, good, all the ones I don't like seem horrible!

I like Ronnie Barker but don't like Ronnie Corbett, for example. Corbett seems like another one of those golf cronies.

I think QVC also do them and they are a bit quicker off the mark, some of these companies take forever, I order something from the US and it was here in 5 days, still waiting for something I ordered from the UK almost a month ago.

So much better than the Chiles man. I did not know he was doing it. After the 1st episode, turned to Beeb 2 and was gloriously surprised

Accurate. Mr Barker was a very fine actor as well.

Mr Corbett matches his jumpers - prissy and pressed - and frequents the same golf clubs as Tarbie and Bruce. Enuf said

I know too much

Didn't Billy go drinking with Parky, rather than playing golf.

Just reading back in the thread a bit.

I don't think the presenter needs to have a great knowledge of dance.
Lets face it, one of the judges doesn't. *cough* Alesha *cough*
So dance knowledge doesn't seem to be a priority with the BBC.
Graham Norton is too shouty for me. He hasn't seemed to grasp yet what the job of a microphone is.
And what was the show you are all saying he was horrid to dancers on? I can't work out the initials. Sorry.
I did like him on the Andrew Lloyd Webber shows though.

And I think Barrowman would tone the innuendo down if he were to do the show.
Whereas I think Julian Clary would be far more likely to let naughty comments slip. The man just cannot control himself.

And I'm deeply unnappreciating Bruce this series.
He really should retire. He barely utters three words in a row without fluffilng one of them.

Oh and info for those of you who asked what was he actually good at - he was an excellent jazz pianist.

I'm gonna throw a name in the ring for presenter here, because I think she's classy, professional and could just do the job without taking over........... Mariella Frostrup.

Does it have to be a bloke?

Oh yeh, and I thought both Kara and Matt's showdances were crap.

sofakat - I always suspected there was a good reason for Bruce never to have been Knighted. I always suspected he wasn't that nice a bloke.

I think you have confirmed my suspicions.

I recently worked with a chap who was quite well known a few years ago [Bobby Knutt] and he said that both Bruce and Des O'Connor were always looking round the room to see who was more important than whoever they were talking to.
And when someone came into the room they would just turn their backs and go and talk to them instead.

Rude
and
Ar**holes
I think were his descriptions.

[He always found Bob Monkhouse to be friendly and generous, though.]
