It had aired. It was NOT a spoiler.

Your lookout I'm afraid.

Just an idea:

Watch the show as it goes out live.

I was a bit annoyed TBH, stuck at work, just reading the general discussion forums and then saw the banner!!

But hay, its the way the sausage rolls.

If you decide to watch it on delay it's your problem. You cannot expect DS to wait for you to catch up.

The Programme was being shown on national TV.
The DS red banner went up as the winner was announced on air.

What to you want? DS to email you asking if you are ready for the result yet?
Many viewers record programmes to watch later, should DS etc wait for them too?

If yoy don't want to know the result until you are ready, stay away from the internet!

it's hardly DS fault , is it?

watch it live.

They probably announced Mccoy won SPOTY - did it spoil that as well?

BBC does the same thing with sport to be honest.

1. The banner isn't on a page specifically about the apprentice.

2. As you rightly point out, lots of people record it, maybe they're watching something else, maybe they've gone out, . Maybe they didn't know the final was tonight and missed it, like me.

3. What is the purpose of the banner? Who are they announcing it to if everybody should watch it live?

4. They don't need to wait at all. They could easily put "click to find out who won". What difference does it make?
These aren't unreasonable requests.

It was shown to millions on BBC1 at just after 10pm. So its news and not a spoiler.

Why should they wait exactly for you?

None of my questions are about how many people watched it

Yes - but your questions are really not relevant.

The show was shown live on BBC1 - the winner was announced. So officially we have a winner which is then news and DS are perfectly entitled to state who has won immediately.

If you don't want to know the winner - don't have the internet on!

My questions aren't relevant to you because I'm right, the banner serves NO PURPOSE other than to inform the people that don't even watch it or missed it who won.

I never get the red banners. I think it's because I've got javascript turned off on here.

But even if I did I wouldn't be anywhere near here if I didn't want something spoiling (if you can call it that after the fact).

If the Queen died and you had Sky News on a five minute delay should DS wait for you before announcing this as a banner?

I was under the impression that both finalists are filmed being hired but the winner isn't decided until the final.

You should have put a bet on

What in case it spoiled the end of the reality show "queen on her deathbed"?

Another illogical question. Keep going.

No point really - some people on here seem to think the whole world should revolve around them and their TV being on a five minute delay.

I don't even know what you're wittering on about iwth 5 minute delay nonsense. I'm talking about those who specifically did not watch it live.

Perhaps the BBC should close iplayer, because apparently it's for silly people who miss the live program.

I don't go near the forums/facebook, etc when something like the final of The Apprentice is on! I can survive an hour or two without, and it ensures I don't accidentally "bump into" any spoilers Go for a walk, cook tomorrow's dinner, clean the chickens out....it's not difficult to avoid the 'net just prior to such monumental announcements

I so know what you mean.

I have been behind with Coronation Street so have been recording it.

Imagine my annoyance when ITV showed an interview with Julie Goodyear last week talking about her last scenes. So now I know how Bet Gilroy leaves, and it's destroyed it for me. I may as well throw away all of my video cassettes now!

Bloody ITV. They should be more aware!

The only episode of TA I missed was the one for the cleaning task, and I tried so hard not to know the result until the repeat a few days later. But failed because the following day Hubby bought the newspapers and the first page I opened was the page showing who had been fired. My fault, and still enjoyed watching the show a few days later.

I had missed the episode where shibby got fred. Avoided BBC, digitalspy, facebook, newspapers, etc and when I was going home from work I see it on those billboards that show headlines, 'shibby fired from Apprentice'. Sooo pissed. Never watched the episode in the end

as for op above, not even close to being a spoiler

Try actually turning off your computer for once and try to live a normal life.
