The ratings were great, they're both good at comedy and drama, they haven't dominated in terms of serious storylines and have a huge storyline coming up in the new year. So overall, yes, it has been successful, but it was always going to be.

For me they have been a success as I love them, so it was always going to be a success in my eyes.
![]() But they haven't had any good storylines yet, which is going to change soon enough. A lot of people don't like them on DS but they are still two hugely popular characters with the public. As a soap couple they are iconic and Kat is a soap icon herself and as the ratings prove yes its been a success. ![]() Also this poll seems to prove they are loved by most: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1411922

I think their return may well prove to be successful once they're given a decent storyline to work with.

Yes. Those, Max and Christian & Syed are the only reasons I'm watching at the minute.

I have never been a fan of Alfie, Shane's acting is rather bleh. I was happy to see Kat return, but all she has done is screech.
So for me it hasn't been a success but judging by ratings and comments on DS the viewers love em. |

I think they're return could have been handled better, that whole gangster thing and Kat being pregnant by Michael really annoyed me but I love having Kat back and I hope she slips back into the character I know and love during her upcoming storyline as she's not QUITE there yet. I'm not a big alfie fan and I see that he's not all that popular on here but the pulic seem to like him so...

As much as I've gone off Kat, I do still think their return has been good. They're fun to have around.

I had misgivings - especially about Alfie - but Kat has been brilliant, and when he's reduced to a bit part it's great.

Yes I think it has. They are one of the few plus points at the moment and Jessie is sure to be amazing during next week's 'events'

Barely a second in and Kat was close to being near completely unlikeable with all the 'Michael' nonsense (why wasn't Alfie the father???), alongside her partnership with horrible Stacey. So in that sense no. Alfie is now a caricature of his former self, but I prefer him this way.

I really don't see the point why they came back. Even Kat alone isn't needed anymore. We have Ronnie, Janine, Bianca etc. Why bring another loud mouth back who's even worse than before? |

Kat is just an annoying loudmouth and what was the point of making Michael the father of her baby? Is Michael likely to return at a later date? As for Alfie, the character doesn't actually exist. He's just Shane Ritchie being Shane Ritchie.

I always liked them but their return was doing my head in before they moved into the VIC. Alfie running round trying to get money every episode was poor writing and the characters seemed to have no purpose. Now they're in the Vic i think they are fitting in well now.

I feel the quality of the show has decreased a lot solely due to their storylines. Don't find either character interesting and the overload of them in their first weeks nearly made me stop watching the show.
