She said he was less passionate than she was. Compared to some of the things said about her in the boardroom in the past, it was practically a compliment.

A big LOL to the people trying to make up excuses for Stella
![]() ![]() After seeing Chris practically celebrate hoping Stella would get a dressing down a few times, he deserved to get a telling off. I just didn't want Stella to lose focus or damage her own chances. Though ironically, Stella kept to her word by keeping disagreements about business matters to the boardroom, while most of the other candidates bitched and moaned back at the house or created problems on the tasks. |

I thought she homed in on a point that had been made about Chris at interview stage, ie whether he had a commitment to doing the job as opposed to getting the job.
AS might have thought that was perceptive since she didn't have the benefit of knowing what the interviewers had said about him. I didn't think she was bad mouthing him so much as saying I have the experience to know what I am getting into and I desperately want it. Given that she had been criticised for being corporate and bland, I don't think she had a lot to lose if she felt things moving in Chris' favour at that point. I've been in a similar position and actually sometimes people do like to see that you feel strongly enough about the job to fight for it. |

Stella simply spoke her mind. She does have a passion that Chris doesn't have and it is one that allows her to excel in business without any qualifications and it's a passion Chris will never have. It's not an insult, just a different perspective on things. There was no guarantee Sugar would buy into it and you're all forgetting we only saw excerpts of what was said in the final boardroom. They didn't even show us Sugar's reaction to what Stella was saying.

She definitely went down in my estimation there, I felt sorry for Chris as it wasn't in his character to have a go back at Stella. I guess when people are desperate enough they will trample on anyone to get their way.

It wasn't her finest moment but the stress must have been unbelievable so a little out of character behaviour is easily excusable.
Frankly, it seemed pretty in-character to me. Quote:
I say out of character advisedly because Stella is someone who thinks things through and if she had been thinking clearly she'd have realised she was going down exactly the same path that got Paloma fired.
Her lack of boardroom experience may have contributed. She wasn't actually present when Paloma got fired, for example.

Stella was one of faves from the beginning, but she went down in my estimation when she did that.
Chris did well and, in my eyes, looked the bigger person, when he didn't retaliate. |

On the Shopping List task, what she said was outrageous enough to prompt those remarks from Liz afterwards. (What we saw of it didn't look too bad, making Liz's reaction look unfair, but we only saw an edit.) She's not been shy about attacking Stuart, either, even when unprovoked.
Way to stack the tables about a candidate you don't like. ![]() Quote:

Good point.

She wasn't nasty... she was just pointing out her strengths over Chris... he was actually super snappy back... thought he was way more out of order.
Its a competition fgs |

I agree. I've always liked Stella but she definitely let herself down inthe boardroom and i thought it had lost it for her. Chris came across as far more professional.

I think it may have been that final 'rant' as you put it, that actually swayed LS in Stella's favour. Think about it, all through the series she has continuously shown that she is not an argumentative person, that she keeps her cool in practically all situation and promotes the peace in the workplace. I do think Lord Sugar was looking for that business killer instinct that really Stella hasn't shown much of in the past. That final 'episode' whilst maybe taking a big risk, showed LS that when pushed she WILL fight back - and you need that in business.
I do think she let her emotions get the better of her though, but I think it's only an expression of how much she wanted the job. Think about it, she's never done that in the board room before - she must have really felt she had to. |

Quite right. It was just a last moment ditch attempt by Stella to sway LS in her favour, having previously been criticised by him for being corporate or bland. It's difficult to know whether it did the trick because LS may well have already decided before the final even took place, after their 6 month trial, which plays a very important part in the final decision. Whatever, Stella was a worthy winner, one of the best Apprentice wiinners there's been, and there's been one or two dubious winners over the years.

I honestly thought that outburst had lost it for her. I nearly had a heart attack during the long pause!

She doesn't need excuses. She was by far the best contestant. I'm glad she won because she deserved the opportunity far more than did anyone else,

I almost thought that moment might have cost Stella the job, even though she was a far better candidate than Chris. It was a bit unprofessional and came across as a bit desperate, and Stella is usually quite cool under pressure. I also noticed her rolling her eyes a lot when Chris was speaking. But I'm still glad she won.

Either way, the eye rolling was a lot ruder. |

Yes, because Chris was really professional when he called Stuart a fat tw*at!! Some people seem to forget this.

Is this when two wrongs start making a right? Anyway, most people would probably accept that the rough and tumble of the tasks was different from the boardroom under Lordsugar's eyes (and if Stella had been there in Trafalgar Square she'd probably have given Chris a round of applause)..

Overall I wanted Stella to win but what she said was crass, bitchy and spiteful. I was practically cheering at Chris's come-back remark and thought he came across as being much more grown-up and classy. I honestly thought what she said would have lost it for her.
I was a bit 'meh' about her winning after that! |

It smacked a bit of desperation on Stella's part. She was determined to win - after all, she always gets what she wants!
I didn't like the attack, it showed lack of class and a bit of a ruthless streak, but she got away with it. |

Totally agree with you. How dare she judge Chris' passion to her own. That's when I went off her and more so afterwards with the looks she was giving. Good for her in a way to be so confident, and determined. However, I thought she'd shot herself in the foot with that outburst and Chris handled it with dignity. After backing Stella from the outset, I was disappointed that Chris didn't get the job.

Shocked at the complete over-reaction to this. She made one comment that was more trying to embellish her own passion for the job than insult his, and people who liked her all series "went off her"? Seriously?
Are people forgetting the numerous personal attacks she's had against her for being "wooden and corporate", throughout the entire series, all of which she handled with dignity? Not to mention Chris calling StuBaggs a "fat tw*t" a few weeks back - not that this should be used against him either, but people seem to be ignoring this. This is almost as much of an overreaction as Sugar's sacking of StuBaggs. |
