Personally I think that Stella's reputation as being "cold" or "icy" has been completely overplayed and blown out of proportion, I always found her to be warm and personable throughout the show. Admittedly I did not like her comment towards Chris in the final boardroom, but all in all I'm kind of bemused as to how she's now being portrayed as being cold.

I found her alot more personable than several of the other candidates, including Chris.

I found Stella to be more focused than anything. Like she said herself, she went there to get a job, not for the kudos of winning the competition

I actually believe that Stella more than most candidates genuinely wanted the job, and not to be on the Apprentice.

Exactly. Though if there was a competition to see who looks more focused, I think Yasmina would beat her at it.

But no, at no point did I find Stella cold or particularly corporate. Certainly not since Week Three.

Nope, I found her quite personable. I liked the way she interacted with the audience when pitching Urbon.

Totally agree with this - she had a sense of humour as demonstrated when she had to play a living mannequin in the shop window.

Totally. Stella just got on with the job at hand instead of boasting about how amazing she was to cover up for the fact that she wasn't doing much of anything.



Exactly. I think clips like this show more what Stella is genuinely like, but when it came to being in the boardroom and in direct competition with others, she put her game-face on and away she went.

I liked stella all the way through,apart from the comment about chris, there was no need for it, and i think sugar should have told her that.

I think she was reserved and focussed rather than cold. Would a 'cold' person have stripped off for a photo-shoot to help their team win a task when they were clearly embarrassed? I think not!!

No I didnt find her cold, but it seems that they like to give each contestant a 'gimmick' so that they stand out more.

Liz was the fit one
Joanna was the annoying one
Jamie was the one who said stupid things
Alex was just made to look stupid full stop.

These things developed as the series went on and were edited in a way to show this.

Ok the Liz one isnt totally serious! But there were many references to her interest in fashion which sort of implied that she was more interested in all that sort of thing.

I think Stella had a talent for being fairly non-emotional during the tasks and that gave the impression she was a bit cold and aloof. Compare her to Laura - she was too emotional, crying, getting stroppy. Melissa was similar. Stella was able not to let her emotions rule her decision making which is a great talent for any business woman. Some people claim women tend to think with too much emotion, men less so. I think in the field of business a fairly unemotional woman must be an advantage. Stella would be a good example.

I agree. I think Stella would be very different with those who know her well.

You only have to see the way she greeted Joanna when she chose her in the final task to see she wasn't a cold person.

Something about her felt too calculating. Like she spent the whole time thinking "How am I expected to act? Which way is my smile supposed to be? What should the look in my eyes be? How should I tilt my head? Which way should I pitch my voice to get the best response? How do I hold my body language to try to seem friendly but professional? Oh noes, a joke, am i supposed to laugh? How loudly should I laugh?"

In the end, every time she smiled I grimaced because I wondered what it was she wanted from it.

Weird. I got the exact reverse impression.

She didn't smile all the time and every time she did you could see the reason and it seemed 100% genuine.

I must agree with the posts that she was very calculating. She always asked the others their opinion first never giving her own. And she never ended up in the boardroom. I think her present job at viglen is no good for her at all. Karen ought to make her a manager at one of her football teams. I think she would really excel there.

That's exactly what you need to be to succeed in business.

They are there to win the series, not to make friends (although I'm sure many friendships are forged).

The best strategy is undoubtedly to be hardworking and cooperative on the tasks and then, if need be, fight your corner in the boardroom.

Stella may have gone a little over the top in the very last boardroom but given the weeks of pressure and the unbearable tension in those final minutes, anyone with the slightest hint of human understanding would forgive her that.

Had she done that in an earlier task it would have been forgotten by all but her most virulent detractors.

Even if she lost the tasks I dont think she would have made the boardroom except when she was PM. Stuart said only about her he wants her in the boardroom, One of the others said to take the wind out of her sales. From the fact that she only brought girls to her final task shows that they didnt like her. They apart from Liz didnt realise SHE was the competition. The boys realised that. I think CF was the least calculating of them and LS noticed that and fired him the first time he was in the boardroom.

Isn't that a good quality, willing to listen to others opinions? And she clearly did give her opinion on matters. Also she ended up in the boardroom twice.
