I'm looking for a basic home cinema system to replace my crippled hi-fi. I settle on the Panasonic SCDT310 but I'm having trouble finding somewhere with it in stock for a reasonable price. It appears it has been discontinued but not sure why it's not been removed from their site.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative? Or a dealer with it in stock?
The main requirement is it must be good for playing standard CDs, as well as DVDs. Also it must have ideally one digital and two analog inputs. I'm willing to pay up to £350 but may go higher if its worth it. The best price I've found for the Panasonic is £229.99 but obviously not in stock.

It's listed on Dealtime but it's at least £70 more expensive, but is reported as in stock.

Thanks for that, but its been removed from the John Lewis website. I went to John Lewis in Nottingham and the only one they had left was the display model. I'm willing to pay £300 for it, I was very impressed by the sound quality.

I found it on unbeatable.co.uk too, and also that Richer Sounds will price match various websites. They have it in store too.

I've just bought a Sony DAV-SC5 from PRC Direct to replace my ageing stereo system. It does the job more than adequately and is definately worth checking out at this price

£215.00 for region 2 or £245.00 multi-region.

I managed to get a multi region Panasonic from Richer Sounds today. Thanks for the help though.
