Come on, they did not re-shot AS decision a year later!!! She may only have just been picked but the reaction shows was recorded a year ago.
In which case (and I don't doubt it) Stella would make a bladdy good actress, especially with the way she did that choked thing with her voice.

Maybe she didnt know at the time they would reshoot it with Chris winning instead

I kind of do!!

Apparently this series was filmed a year ago, both Stella and Chris have been working for Siralan ever since on a trial basis, and they filmed 2 endings.

I wanted a real reaction.
I'd feel totally robbed if this was true, but I don't believe it. It can't be!

It is true and it's been true for every series.

The finalists work for LudAl for a period of time and he makes his decision based on that and their performances in the tasks (which are filmed with a day or so inbetween, not one a week).

The work they carry out during their trial is not always the same as the job he has in mind

With ideas like that, you should be a reality TV show producer...

I can't believe we get this same thread after every series and each year there are more posters to whom this is apparently breaking news. Are there really people out there who still don't know that the boardroom is a studio set, that the receptionist is an actress, that the filming was done months ago, that the walk to the taxi scenes are all shot in advance and that they film two you're hireds and that the finalists work for Sugar until the decision is made?

Where have these people been for the last six years?

Perhaps they don't read the tabloids or follow forums like these ... Inconceivable at it may seem

Don't you think that each series has quite a few new viewers then? Or casual viewers who become more deeply interested in it? And that some of them subsequently start to post in this forum?

Do you react to children like this, when they ask you about Father Christmas?

There is always almost a year between filming and broadcast. Two outcomes are always filmed and the winner is finally told days before broadcast.

It's nothing new and nothing to do with the recession.

Bizarre - in this scenario you'd imagine that the reports he would have had about their year's worth of employment would be far more indicative of their real value than some dodgy made-for-tv task so I wonder how much of what we saw on screen actually had any bearing on the choice.
Very little. That's why the final task is always one where it's a judgement call on Surallen's behalf, rather than one that's down to sales or something like that. That way, no matter which way it falls, he can be seen to have made the decision based on the task.

Just think about the whole of the last episode and picture Chris being hired at the end. It'd still fit with what we saw during the rest of the episode, wouldn't it?

We know that but the masses don`t.......The results show for SCD is filmed on the Saturday night and shown as if live on the Sunday night.....The name of the eliminated contestant is leaked by audience members(and a BBC insider) and appears on DS at about 10pm on the Saturday....and yet I know many fans of the show who were shocked when I was able to "predict" who would be eliminated....and even more shocked when I told them the Sunday show was recorded on the Saturday night.
It`s TV....nothing is ever as it appears to be.....and that's why some FM ask this question every year.

Having said all that Chris`s reaction looked very genuine and even I thought that maybe they`d recorded the hiring scene last wk......I watched the very first series of the American Apprentice and the winner was hired live on the final night in front of a studio audience......well actually the Boardroom set opened up and the candidates then turned to face the audience....3.45min into this clip

It's a pity they don't film the bit inside the taxi before they are fired. That would be surreal. Them explaining why they've been fired before they've done any tasks.
Excellent!

'Tis a shame so much f this programme is contrived. But I love it, all the same!

For those who are shocked also consider this the next series of the apprentice has already been filmed and the two finalists are already working for lord Sugar (assuming with the new prize he continues the same formula)

Probably not, as the prize is now cash to start up a business, rather than a job.

The reason they both work for LS is because they are not allowed to take employment until the final show has aired and the winner announced.

Since they can't go out of pocket, LS hires them for 6 months from filming until the winner is announced. Usually this is 6 months but because this series started so late, both finalist were working for him for almost year!

These are temporary jobs and not the real job which stella will do in Jan 2011.

Hope that clears any concerns.
Quoting for emphasis!

The Saturday SCD show is live......after the live show is finished, viewers then vote for their favourite....at approximately 9pm the phone lines close.....At which point the BBC record the results show, which is then broadcast on the Sunday night.....However the recorded results show is scripted in such a way that it appears to be live...when in-fact it was recorded on the Saturday night....any clearer.??

eg...During the Sunday results show Tess Daly will talk about last nights Dances.

I think the answer being sought was "SCD = Strictly Come Dancing".

I can just imagine an over-the-top director at the side of the camera yelling at Stella and Chris "Okay Chris, I wanna see gutted, and I mean gutted!!! You have been fired and you feel worthless, you feel dejected, even shed a tear if you can. Stella, I want you to give me joy, you have got the job you wanted, you have reached the top of the mountain and you feel amazing, you have done just what you set out to do. Yes! Nice! Come on, push it more, get over the top with it! Okay we got it!.....Right, next sequence. Stella now it's your turn to give me sad, I want to see genuine heartbreak. You thought you were good enough but oh no, Lord Sugar does not want you. You failed in your mission. Now Chris, can you at least give me a smile? Yeah go on, you got it. Bit wider, I want to see some of those teeth, use those amazing blue eyes of your's. Nice!!!"

However, although it's true they work for him, it's not on a "trial basis". According to the BBC link, the winner is decided before their temporary work position starts.

If you believe that, you'll believe anything.

AS may have a pretty good idea but it's not credible that he won't be influenced by what transpires during the interim period.

I'd agree that it's not officially a 'trial period', though.
