Sugar's reaction to Stuart.

Sugar gave Stuart an almighty rollicking in the boardroom and said "I don't believe anything that you say". This was in response to an exaggeration in Stu's CV.
It was only a couple of years ago that he chose the winner and the person had lied on his CV. That time Sugar said "Oh well everyone lies on their CV's"
Where is the consistency and why weren't these discrepancies found earlier than at the near final interviews.
Slack selection process by the people running the show.
Is that you Lord,S?

I think there was more to Stuart's firing than we know about.
The fact SAS brought it up in the final made me think that.
The guy must have done something bad to rile SAS like that.

Yeh definitely something fishy going on!!??

Stuart looked VERY sheepish in the you're fired part of the programme as well and all the fun seemed to be gone that surrounded him previously.

Yeah it was Lee Mead who won it who said he had been at a uni for 2 years or something when he had been for first term and like OP says Sugar just said "oh well everyone lies on CV's"!

If it's not for a sinister reason then I can only think it is because Stuart continued to try and lie about it.

I think that Stuart was kept in for entertainment and the Sugar firing was all part of the charade - complete with largely manufactured indignation to order.

It was telling that Sugar's comment about Stuart (made in the final programme) was that they got a lot of fun out of him, or words to that effect.

Sugar does something similar every year, makes at least one error of judgement or poor decision, then ascribes it to 'weakness' and blames it on the candidate. It's clear to see why his 'empire' has shrunk and why the voiceover guy doesn't tell you what it's now worth. If I recall earlier series it was around £800m, sure it's not close to that now.

I think the thing with Stuart and Sugar was that he was clearly capable but he never seemed to take it completely seriously (although I believe he did) I think Sugar got taken in initially, began to wonder about his potential and then switched when he found out one card had been taken from his tower he expected it all to fall. What I think was unfair is that he didn't recognise any positives about Stuart following the interviews (not on shows outside of the main one either)

The key thing to remember about Sugar, I think, is that he looks after his own and nothing else. That's why his son is Director of his companies (has also been MD) Stuart got close to getting 'in' which made his firing more brutal.

I hope Stuart keeps on as before, I would hate to think that they killed his spirit,

I'm sure they haven't.

One hopes he'll have learned quite a lot from this and grown up a bit.

When he wasn't indulging in narcissistic self aggrandisement he showed he could talk a lot of sense.

I doubt a nuclear attack could kill Stuart's spirit

I think you mean Lee McQueen as Lee Mead was on "any dream will do".

I agree with oulady.
It's all about entertainment,
I don;t doubt that the cvs are meticulously checked before candidates are selected and that they know who's lied before the series starts.
