Well Done to Fred for finally winning a version of the show (about time) - after getting loads of duds (barring Zaraah and possibly Melinda) he wont he 1st series of the US show!

Woops, I shouldn't have come in here today. Was avoiding all the US forums but didn't think to avoid this place.

Aw sorry it got spoiled for you.

Well done Fred. I've sorta watched bits of it on youtube and I do think the right person won in skating terms. I doubt it'll be back as it seemed to flop in America. Rebecca was great although I don't think Bethany should have finished 2nd.

Well done Fred, lets hope they can make the show longer next season.

That went really quickly, how many weeks was it on for altogether?

So pleased for Fred & Rebecca. The right person won although I think Jonny should have finished 2nd.

I think this was a pilot series which is why the series was short but I have heard that the ratings haven't been that great so I don't know if it will get a 2nd series.

Still really gutted that he & Mel aren't coming back to DOI - now that the series is getting closer & we have had the launch it's starting to feel very real.

5 - there were 6 pairs and six episodes, but there were two eps this week - Monday night and Tuesday night.

The whole thing was a bit of a mess, and only having six contestants didn't really help. I understand it was to make a pilot series but they only trained for 5 weeks before it started and then 5 weeks of the show means that by the final they've only been skating for 10 weeks, so the standard was only as high as the first few weeks of DoI rather than something you'd see in the finale. They did make them do a lot harder stuff than you would see so early on DoI though.

The scoring system was very confusing too - because of the time zone difference in America, they couldn't open the phone lines for voting and then eliminate somebody based on that unless they had a separate results show on a different night, which they didn't want to do. So you were combining judges scores with viewer votes from the week before - so the votes weren't at all based on that weeks' routine, it was totally done by popularity.

Add to that the fact that last week Brandon dropped out through illness so there was no elimination, the results on Monday night's show were a combination of a) last week's judges scores b) this week's judges scores c) the viewer vote from two weeks ago and last week and d) the scores from the "group skate" earlier this week. I was so confused during it all!

Fred and Rebecca totally deserved to win, but I was absolutely gobsmacked when Jonny and Brooke were eliminated on Monday night. As was Vernon!

I hope (but doubt) it comes back, but if it does they need to make a lot of changes!

There wont be a next season. It was an absolute uber-flop.

Don't know but there were only 6 celebs so it can't have been much longer that a month.

Really Mr Incredible? That's shocked me. Maybe he'll be back for DOI 2012 then

Yeah, unfortunately it didnt take off at all.

Not really surprising considering a similar show had already flopped there before.

I thought Vernon Kay as a host was an odd choice.

Going to miss Fred on this years show. Although from what I was reading he was actually planning to retire and go into teaching before ABC called.

Would love to see him back on DOI though. Glad he had a good partner this time and then winning it. About time.

I wish we could have Johnny Weir and Laurieann Gibson judging DOI with Robin, instead of Jason and Emma. (Robin can be our Dick Button of the panel.) I didn't particularly like Laurieann at first but I'd definitely warmed to her by the end. Johnny and Laurieann were both tough and they didn't sugarcoat things but neither were they rude or personal. That's how the judges should be.

I wouldn't mind Johnny, but I'm still not sure about Laurieann. Her choreography for Johnny's opening number on Tuesday night was a mess, so I don't know how much I trust her opinion!

I also got a bit sick of her saying "you've only been skating for -insert number of weeks here-! It's INCREDIBLE!" to everybody every week.

She definitely improved though!

I haven't seen Tuesday's show yet so I'll reserve judgement on her choreo. She's got to be better than Emma Bunton, though?

Mind you, while I'm quite against having former contestants as judges, I'd actually rather have Bonnie Langford as a judge than Emma Bunton! But Bonnie is a great dancer (which is definitely a relevant skill set) and has had some ice skating training and so her opinion would be informed and probably worth listening to. I have to say, though, that she's the only former contestant who I could tolerate on the judges' panel! I know Ray was phenomenal but he doesn't have Bonnie's years of experience, so for me, I think she'd have more gravitas.

I've watched the final now. Ok, no Laurieann but pleeeeeeeeeease can we have Johnny Weir instead of Jason Gardiner? Pleeeeeeeeeease?

IMO I loved SWTS!

The right person won and even though they had only been skating for 10 weeks total they were performing moves some celebs don't even attempt on DOI!

I was wowed by Jonny and Rebecca every week and that Brandon could've made it to the final if he had not been ill and pulled out of the competition!

I really enjoyed the show much more than DOI!!

Such a shame if it was a one off!!

Oh and WELL DONE FRED!!!
