I have been selected to test the ITV player on freesat, has anyone?

Do you think it will be a good addition to the platform?

Yes, I have too. Had a quick play and PQ is not brilliant, but i-player was like that originally & now it's very good. No choice of quality yet either, just straightforward play. It will be a useful addition this time of year because I can't always record everything I want to watch. We record loads of stuff over the festive period & then don't watch half of it.

I've used it occasionally for testing, it is quite good, just a shame about the content. I never watch ITV.

Keep trying - it took several attempts before I finally got connected.

Do you press the red button before the combination or not?

I have tried both and it still does not work.

I was selected to try the ITV player (I previously signed up to try the iPlayer). But I'm unable to accept - my internet connection is just too slow for streaming.

well it's not a bad pq - An Audience with Kenneth Williams is acceptable. The fast forward facility is crap, doesn't bloody work, spoiling the whole show

I think that the BBC actually said it was still in Beta for a brand of TV some weeks ago but out for others,

It is out of Beta entirely.

the only problem is with 2008 Panasonic models that are supposedly going to get it.I believe the problem is with Panasonic not the BBC.

That happened with me - though not halfway through, about 1 minute before the ad break.

The ad breaks seem to go on forever and keeps repeating the same ITV2 and ITV4 promos in succession. I hope this is purely because it is the Beta version and the real advertising periods will be shorter in reality else this will be a great turn-off.

Try being patient and remember 2 things. 1) Beta means Testing.

2)We are lucky to be able to get a look this early at how it is likely to perform. long ads and channel trailers are probably used when the technicians are carrying out tweaks etc.
