Grenadine traditionally was made from pomegranite, but not all grenadines are now. Also traditionally grenadine is quite syrupy and non alcoholic.
Given pomegranites have been banded about as one of the "super foods" in the last few years I'm suprised there has been no pomegranite based alcoholic drink already - so kudos to them for spotting a gap in the market.
