Still reading Sovereign by CJ Sansom but I started Great Expectations at lunchtime as I was waiting for the bus and I had just bought a copy. So now have two on the go

They are both very good.
The second runs parallel to the first, so it's the same 'event' but from the perspective of a new main character, and the 3rd goes back to the main character from the 1st book.

Finished The Last Dragonslayer - it was very good, as expected of Jasper Fforde.

The Likeness by Tana French, enjoyed In The Woods, and so far I am this one too, despite a slightly dodgy premise.

Thanks, Sid, I'll be watching or recording that, as I'll be very interested in what they think.
I've read both of these, and disliked them both a lot (along with Emma Donoghue's Room and Rosamund Lupton's Sister, which I'd put in the same category). All are page turners, and all very popular, but I find something about them deeply unpleasant, although I'm not sure what. Maybe it's the victim theme.
Just finished reading Skin Privilege by Karen Slaughter which was brilliant. Am now about to start Twelve Babies on a Bike by Dot May Dunn - I have no idea how this book came to be in my house but I'll give it a go

haha if you can get over the fact that the premise is highly unlikely (and lots of fiction is in this category) it's a brilliant book - I loved it!
Birdsong - Sebastian Faulks.
Thought I'd read the book rather than watch the TV adaptation.
Very depressing and thought provoking account of WW1, and yet, I'm not finding any real sympathy for any of the books' main characters - instead I feel really sad for the men who did fight and suffer in the trenches and anger at those in charge.
Which, maybe is the reaction Faulks was trying to generate with this book?

Reading this at the minute. Its ok am finding it kind of hard work its not what its cracked up to be.
I'm reading the second instalment of "Never mind the botox by penny Avis and Joanna berry" The first one is called Alex and this one is called Rachel. Loving it so far.

Have you read The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid? I too enjoyed Khaled Hosseini's books and LOVED this book. It is a real teaser and when it finished I could have read more.
