Im waiting to re read that until nearer the time. The Twelve was originally due out in March, then was put back to August, now its October. Lets hope its not put back again, not sure how much longer I can wait
I'll probably read it again before the next one, but was desperate for something to read in the sun!

Almost finished the first book in the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb - really enjoying it.

A Place of Greater Safety by Hilary Mantel. It's absolutely brilliant.

Finished L M Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables. Remember vaguely the TV version from the mid 70s. Very enjoyable and one of the best examples of the "rites of passage" novels.

Finished Anthony Trollope's "Small House at Allington" .. probably the weakest of the Chronicles of Barsetshire. Unsatisfactory plot progression and too many Dickens-like sub-plots and the introduction of unecessary characters.. At 778 pages - could have been edited down to less than 500 . "The Smaller House at Allington" would probably be more satisfactory !

I'm having trouble deciding what to read next, it's between:
The man who broke into Auschwitz
The Girls by Lori Lansens
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf

Just finishing Stephen Fry's "The Fry Chronicles"

He's brutally honest about himself, pointing out his lies, his self-pity, his lack of self worth: All the things he seems to think make him unlikeable.
At the same time, those he loves are completely protected by him; mentioned often but nothing of their privacy given away, and those who have slighted or bad mouthed him are not savaged by him - he does just enough to expose their character without actually muck raking.
I hadn't actually realised how warm the friendship is between him and Hugh Laurie, to whom he dedicates the book - Fry says some lovely things about him.
Loved the book, and the man, despite his best efforts to make the reader hate him!
Am genuinely stuck for something to follow it with!
