Naming the Bones, by Louise Welsh. Academic delves into the life of a long-dead poet. Pretty good so far.

Thanks for that, just a shame I am so far from Dundee or would most likely have gone to that. Maybe he will get to my neck of the woods one day.

I've never climbed a proper mountain, and have no desire to do so, but his book is very well written and researched. Brutally sad, but riveting.

Hiya - I still think Jimi was robbed!

I've just finished The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas and whilst I can see why it has provoked very mixed reactions, I enjoyed it immensely. I thought it was bold, edgy and full of complex and fascinating characters.

Next on my pile is What To Do When Someone Dies by Nicci French.

Really enjoying reading the series again, not read them since the last book came out I think so it's been a while.

At this precise moment I'm reading a thread entitled 'what are you reading at the moment'.

But later, I'll probably carry on with Pratt of the Argus by David Nobbs.

Finished Alan Sugar's "What You See Is What Yoyu Get". Great read and he has more than a few good tales to tell about his meteoric rise from selling tar blocks on the streets of Hackney to selling satellite dishes to Rupert Murdoch. His time as owner of Tottenham Hotspur makes fascinating reading.

Black Seconds by Karin Fossum.

Another author, like Nesbo and Nesser, I started reading after watching a BBC4 documentary.
