Apologies in advance to anybody who loves Alex Cross !!

I have read all the Alex Cross books up to this one and I am getting increasingly annoyed with this character. In fact I sometimes would love to slap him stupid. He's so holier than thou, and the sixth sense which miraculously gives him the hunches to solve the case is getting right on my pipe.

Having said that, I will continue with the series as I am curious to know if he will ever be able to hold onto a woman or if his kids will ever be anything less than perfect

I am having a break from Mr Patterson for a couple of weeks and am currently on a real detective .... the wonderful Harry Bosch.

For me it just got too unbelievable. Much prefer Harry Bosch too, although am getting quite into the Harry Hole ones at the moment.

Platform by Michel Houellebecq - I read "Atomised" by Houellebecq and thought it was a great book, so have finally got round to reading the book he followed it with. I've read the first 100 pages and have been enjoying it so far.

Reminded of Miss Read by your posts, I have downloaded Village School to my e-reader. It's the first time I've read any of these books since the eighties when I was living in Witney and, Dora Saint being something of a local celebrity, her books were always prominently displayed in the local bookshop. Really enjoying it.

Just finished Clive Cussler's, Corsair. Good adventure reading, nothing too taxing, but enjoyable. Love reading his books. Though he writes so many with so many co-authers now, its hard to know how much is his writing.

about to start,

Man's World, Rupert Smith, he was Stonewall's writer of the year. Its the story of two gay men, one living in todays London and another, living in the more closetted london of 50 years ago. Its the story of two generations of gay men, about how much the world they live in has changed and yet has not!

Really looking forward to it. This is my first read of gay fiction and a new reading media for me.

I've just read the first 4 Black Dagger Brotherhood books by J.R Ward. I've got the other 4 but I think I need to take a break. I'm ashamed to say I've become emotionally involved ha ha.

Sidetracked, by Henning Mankell. Really enjoying this, but would say it is the most violent of the Wallanders I've read so far.

The Stand by Stephen King. I honestly thought I had read it before but I don't remember any of it so I can't have. For years I thought it was about people turning into vampires, and a lone pockets of humans hiding out from them, only to find out it's completely different.

I now have no idea which book the people hole up in an Apartment in the states with a neighbour who has turned into a vampire trying to get in( and no it isn't I Am Legend), very frustrating

I just finished Angelology by Danielle Trussoni, about the hidden war betwen Angels and Humans which was very good.

I read the Snowman first, before realising that it was better read in order - went back to the beginning and have enjoyed every book so far.

Am currently on The Leopard by Jo Nesbo - I may have a slight crush on Harry Hole.
