Got into it straight away, love Nicholls's trademark sense of humour

You've not had much luck with your books lately have you GG?

I've got this one in my 'to read' pile.

HMV were selling three classics for £5, so I bought 'Frankenstein' and 'Sherlock Holmes', too.

I haven't really I don't know if it's me or the books I'm choosing! Or maybe how quickly I've been reading them as I've been off work for 5 weeks.

I'm hoping the next 'new' (to me) book I read will be more interesting - I haven't picked one yet!

They're a very easy read, I find that you get to the end of the book before you even realise that you've started it! I really enjoyed the standalone book Whitewash as well

Maybe have a browse through the "recommend ONE book" thread to see if you get any inspiration from there?

The Good man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ - Philip Pullman.

This was recommended to me, it's a bit like a bible class, with the added "twist" that Jesus and Christ were twins. It's an easy read as the story is so familiar!!

Sid I really enjoyed One Day, so Starter for 10 is definitely on my list!

Yesterday I started reading 'A Farewell to Arms' by Ernest Hemingway.

I tried to read it once before, and only manage to get to page 20 before giving up.

So far, 100 pages in and i'm really getting into it!

I've just finished it a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm now reading the sequel, ''World Without End''. I hope it's just as good.

Just finished The Gathering by Anne Enwright.

Very original voice, beautiful prose, though it almost became a little too much towards the end. Still, very enjoyable.

Finished Checkmate, the last in the Noughts & Crosses series by Malorie Blackman yesterday. I think I might start reading To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee in a bit.
