I just finished The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon last week. I absolutely loved it, but the ending really confused the hell out of me...

Just started Prophecy by SJ Parris.

After the Swedish Millennium trilogy and the adventures of Norwegian detective Harry Hole .. I strayed further up Northern Europe and tried Arnaldur Indrišason's Icelandic cop Erlendur. The first installment "Jar City" is excellent .. a plausible plot neatly executed. Will return to Reykjiavik soon (if the unpronouncable volcano doesn't erupt again !)

I have 9 libraries in my area, and 2 of them are just up the road from me. I hope they keep yours open.

Stuart has got another new book coming out in January, but it's not a Logan McRae book.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy ~ John le Carré (before I go to see the film )

William Wilberforce ~ William Hague ( I might not agree with his politics, but Mr Hague is a very good writer. And William Wilberforce was a very fine man whom I would have loved to have met ... and befriended even).

The Dwelling of the Light: Praying With Icons of Christ ~ + Rowan Williams

Beowulf

The Selected Poems of William Blake

That's all for now.

Magnificent Desolation http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Magn.../9781408804162 which is Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin's account of being the second man on the Moon and his life thereafter. It's a surprisingly good read but he did have the help of a professional writer as well (Ken Abraham).

About 60% of the way through The Spear by James Herbert. I have just bought several of his back catalogue on the Kindle. Next up Catch-22, then the new Jack Reacher

Finished The Book Of Human Skin. It took a while to get used to the different characters narrating the story, but once I settled into it, I was hooked. Michelle Lovric is a skillful and enchanting writer - her vivid descriptions truly transport me to 18th century Venice and Peru. My favourite character was the feisty but good-hearted painter Cecilia Cornaro, although I think she was underused.

Next, The Radleys by Matt Haig
