Cold Mountain, quite good, not in the same league as Steinbeck or McCarthy but enjoyable. 8/10

Secret Shopper Unwrapped - Kate Harrison

The last book I read was an autobiography on how a Georgian Countess (one of the queen Mother's ancestors) escaped a violent marriage. The language, legal terminology and the fact that almost everyone had the same name made it a bit hard going in places. For my next book I needed something altogther more lighthearted and festive!

Going to start Into The Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes tonight. I've heard good things about this book, so really looking forward to it.

Just finished Sinister Barrier, Eric Russell's famous sci fi novel based on Charles Fort's idea; "we're property".

Good, but not the masterpiece I anticipated. Bit like Heinlein's Puppet Masters.

I stopped reading his books earlier in the year as 9 out of 10of them are just pure bilge.

Private and Season of the Machete have to be the worst drivel I have ever laid my eyes on.

Currently reading Women and the Noose, a history of female execution.

It's good, but not his best, even with Vimes (and added avec)

Just read Lennox, by Craig Russell, I may have a new author to love.

Onto, Empire of Silver, by Conn Iggulden, interesting to read after the death of Genghis, how the Mongol Empire continues.

Last Act In Palmyra by Lindsey Davis. Roman informer Falco travels through the desert with a theatre company. Very enjoyable, but I think I've guessed whodunnit.

Finished Peter James's "Dead Man's Grip" - latest in the Inspector Grace series. Starting to become too predictable now and the plot was very far fetched despite the initial road accident promising much.
