What did you think Sid?

I certainly thought it lived up to my expectations.

10 out of 10 harry, what a debut!

I'm reading The Accident by Linwood Barclay now. Think this could be a good one too.

I sometimes think about reading this but as I "studied" it for "O" level (now GCSE) and the Mayor of Casterbridge for "A" level, I still occasionally have nightmares about them.... or rather the exam, turning up for it having never read them - which wasn't actually the case, but I think perhaps I should either steer well clear of the books to avoid further trauma or perhaps read them again to get it out of my system

I'm reading Alexander McCall Smith's The No1 Ladies Detective Agency, the second one in the series, finished the first one a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it!

Orphans of the Storm [Kindle Edition] - Katie Flynn. If she uses the word 'presently' one more effing time I actually am going to throw my Kindle across the room. Other than that, unputdownable (except to write this post) .

I'm about halfway through 'A Feast for Crows' which is the 4th book in the series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R R Martin. I'm totally loving the series, the way he weaves all the events and characters, its so clever. You can see how he sets things up to happen in the 4th book right from the 1st novel, very clever! Can't wait for all the others now, going to have to be patient and wait... It's probs not fair for me to complain about waiting though, I only started the series in September and there's loads of other readers I'm sure who've been fans since the 90s!!

I also read Into the Darkest corner and loved it, really scary I found, and a great debut, can't wait to see what she does next!

Also started the Cinderella Deal by Jennifer Cruisie for a bit of light relief, much lighter (in every sense) for on the bus

Finished Dominic Sandbrook's "State of Emergency" .. Brilliant social and political history of the early seventies. Glad I was too young to remember how grim it was under Heath !
