I'm going for a spot of chick-lit! Now reading Mini-Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. I started this last year, but wasn't in a reading mood and gave up.

Speaking of Sophie Kinsella, she has a new book coming out soon if anyone is interested? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ive-Your-Num...2496351&sr=8-1

I've just finished listening to The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland. It took a bit of getting in to but by about half way through the story really got going and overall I enjoyed it. Not quite as good as Company of Liars though,

My next listen is the Radleys by Matt Haig, which I'm expecting to be fairly undemanding.

Meanwhile I'm reading A Dance With Dragons, the latest book by George R R Martin. From the reviews that I've read I was expecting to be a bit disappointed, but I'm about half way through and really enjoying it so far. I started on the series back in June and I really don't know what I'm going to do when I have to re-enter the real world once this book is finished. Hopefully they'll release A Game of Thrones on DVD soon, we don't have Sky so I haven't seen it yet.

Finished The Accident , by Linwood Barclay, and quite enjoyed it (although some of the events were a little too coincidental/far-fetched for my liking).

I'm now reading Confessions of a Reluctant Recessionista by Amy Silver.

Kill Me If You Can - James Patterson. This is the reason why I never give up on Patterson, for every poor book his chosen author puts out there's two or three good ones, and this is one of them. Nothing amazing but a good read so far.

Are We Nearly There Yet? - Ben Hatch

A family's 8000 miles around Britain in a Vauxhall Astra.

Downloaded due to the reviews (and price) on Amazon. Not bad, but wouldn''t rave.

Finished Dead Until Dark. It was... odd. I found the sex scenes a tad gratuitous and it was fairly poorly written in places. I'm not sure if I'd seek out the rest of the series.

Now reading The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Enjoying it so far - I like that we're not being heavily recapped on what has gone before.

Leading on from that post.

Half way through World Without End, really enjoying it, apart from the cringey sex scenes, is there anyway people could stop Follett from writing them?

I had high hopes for that, but I still haven't finished it. Keep reading the odd chapter on my Kindle app on my phone but I really should just get on with it and get it finished! It hasn't grabbed me as much as I hoped it would.

Currently reading Bad Friends by Claire Seeber. Really enjoyed 'Lullaby' but struggling to get into this one. Will persevere though, hopefully it will pick up.

"Cider With Rosie" by Laurie Lee. One of my favourites. I read it periodicly when I want to go for a walk in the countryside and smell the raw earthiness.

Finished The Help - brilliant! So brilliant I didn't want to finish it

Don't know what to read now!
I enjoyed the book with passion but was very annoyed with the film.

I'm not a big film person - I've heard there are a lot of funny bits in it. Why did it annoy you?
