The Glass Menagarie by Tennessee Williams.
We read it at A-Level and I hated it, but I've picked it up again out of curiosity (and I'm currently developing a play and am reading as many as I can) and I'm actually enjoying it. Amanda is such a brilliantly written character.

I know what you mean,its ok but not one of his best,I couldn't seem to care about the main character at all
Got a kindle for xmas, reading my first book on it now - The Damned United by David Peace, a fantastic read.
It's Your Time You're Wasting - On the Kindle about what a teacher in a failing comprehensive secondary school has to put up with.

The Paticular Sadness of Lemon Cake - Aimee Bender. Just started reading it after my friend recommended it to me.

That's the only book I have read by him, I didn't really enjoy it and it didn't inspire me to read any more by him.

That's one of the Richard & Judy books isn't it? I have read mixed reviews so haven't decided whether to buy it or not.

i have just finished silent scream... loved it
I've finally got into reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I bought it last year but I thought that the beginning was quite difficult to get in to.
11.22.63 Stephen King. Really enjoying it so far, and love the nod to characters from another of his books.

I found it difficult to get into when I read it last year but once I was past the first 100 pages I couldn't put it down!
I'm just about to start The Lantern by Deborah Lawrenson.

I haven't read this series myself but I have heard so many people say that about TGWTDT.

I found the same with "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" because it gets so bogged down with names and details and characters. It is worth persevering with and I found the second book easier.
Have you seen the film or original Swedish films?
I've just read "The Other Boleyn Girl" which I enjoyed very much, and am currently reading "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" by Gregory Maguire (a Christmas present) - a twist on the Cinderella story! He wrote "Wicked" which of course was made into a successful West End musical
