just popped in before I go and get some lunch - I really think he should release Violet - he could get it out as an early single before the tour - should tweet a copy of the YT to syconews, matt, this briggs guy if he has twitter and tell them to put it out

I think that's the thing about Darwyn would love to hear it updated in terms of recording presentation. It's not that I don't like it - I really do - but even things like the recording levels (that backing singer in waiting for instance) would benefit by a professional touch and as you say Matt's voice is probably better now too.

Seven Summers is the complete article (whether you like it or not) and whilst I would love to hear it live and I would like for a proper record company to pick it up and get it to a wider audience I wouldn't want it changed at all.

Is there not some sort of contractual clause concerning songs written by the contestant whilst still with XF?
Something to do with copyright perhaps.

My least liked group performance LOL after the dullness that was Elton week it was quite a shock to the system to get this on the results show.

Did you see what I said about men with long hair I have always loved it and always will; why do some men have short hair

I love this because we start to seet Matt out in the front where he should be

Good to see some long hair supporters.
I haven't had short hair for 10 years, although it's shorter now than it has been for ages.

Matt is good in the performance, but the chorus hurts my ears.

Oh right I don't know where or how I just gained that impression - That means his songs could utilised with out him having to sell or whatever copyright then.. How would it work then QM.

on the other hand, Led Zeppelin worked on the melody first principle

Thats interesting and I suppose whatever works for you at the time is ok. I have never written a song so I would not have a clue as to whether the melody should be created first or visa versa. I would like to be a fly on the wall while they do create the whole thing though

I remember the last time the ground shook, it unnerved me so much that I sat in silence for about an hour. lol

I agree about the lyrics coming first. I always think they should be the strongest aspect of a song. I mean, what's the point in making music if you've got nothing to say.

I think it's good to start a song with a phrase or a line while gradually adding the music to it, just as long as the lyrics lead the way though, not the music leading the words.

As far as I'm concerned ..it's opera if it's music led and song if it's lyric led
Although if you're Mozart (or by all accounts Led Zeppelin) you can get the balance
