And today it's a book. "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. Think it's junior fiction, very mediocre by the looks of it. But apparently 7 million copies sold... (I guess I'll try a couple of chapters at least )
Again no thanks.

I can see myself not downloading any of this crap.

Shame as last years looked fair.

Hmmm .. not aware of this, so will probably give it a punt to see what's what.

Is there even any popular titles out on the Itunes store?

I have an Iphone and can't find any. Are they all on Ipad?

Popular books are expensive from the iBookStore. I never bother buying them from there TBH. The Kindle app is another option if you're into buying books. I personally have my own library of ePub and PDF books that I've collected over the years.

If the list is indeed true, then I could see me getting the Broken Sword and Mirror's Edge apps(games ?), the Dr. Who film and possible the David Guetta MP3's.

It is indeed the Charlie Chaplin film today, so the list does look like being accurate.

Yep the list is right

Happy New Year all

PS The Charlie Chaplin Film is nearly 1GB - make sure you're on WiFi

bloody hell .. i imagine there'll be a few people complaining about their data allowance going over

I imagine the Doctor Who film will potentially be bigger than that - I assume it's the Paul McGann version ?

They're all free. I'll get the lot and whether or not I use them, it doesn't matter because they're all free.

The three games this year are all ones I had on my "follow" list of games worth downloading should I want to play them, so I'm happy with those.

I wonder if the Dr Who film is a recent Xmas special, or one of the older ones? I'm not fussy either way as I can download it for free from anywhere as I pay for a TV license and am therefore entitled to download all BBC content from anywhere on the internet. I suspect it will be an older one as Apple won't want to spend too much money.

Both the games look a bit rubbish - what is Broken Sword anyway? It looks like a Comicstrip game.

Unfortunately I won't be able to download them as I'm not at home so I can't even try them out.

It kind of is. Point and click, find clues, solve mysteries etc. Broken sword very popular back in the day.

The same way anything can be HD: by being a higher resolution than the standard version.

Been some nice freebies so far. But the best thing about the whole thing is seeing all the moronic 1 Star reviews for the app on the iTunes Store along the lines of:

"DIS IS CARP!!!!!!!!11!!!!! WHO wantz a BOOOK !!!!!! DO DEY EXPECT U 2 REED iT??????!!!!!1!!!!!! DIS IS THE WORST FING EVA!!!!!!!! GIVE uS GOOD STUFF LIKE A FREE KE$HA ALBUM OR ELSE I WANT ALL MY MOENY BACk!!!!!! APPLE SUCKS I HATE YOU FOR THIS U rooinED CHRISTMIS!!!11!1!!"

I presumed at first they were all pisstakes, but apparently they're real, and some people really are that stupid. Hilarious.
