Your New Strictly Host - Nominations Thread

Hello,

I can't be the only one interested in who the forum think should replace Brucie (when he goes) and I think a vote might be the best way to find out who is most preferred!

In the first stage i'd like people to nominate 5 (or less) people who they think would be suitable hosts. Please vote in this thread as I think it will give others some ideas they may wish to agree with.

After a reasonable amount of votes has been cast (or a week has passed) the 15-20 people with the most votes will progress to the main vote where I will ask people to rank all finalists.

For now please select up to 5 people you think would make good choices for main Strictly host

4 out of this 5 I'd be fine with but I cannot stand Richard Hammond - he'd be dreadful! If I have to have a fifth I'd pick Bill Turnbull or Julian Clary! Anyone but the Hamster. Hell even Clarkson would be bettter!

I'll take that as those 4 and Bill then

Graham Norton, if the BBC aren't going to be using him on any more ALW reality shows then they need to put him somewhere to justify his salary. SCD seems the most obvious choice, and I'd rather they get him to present it for money they already pay him, than employ someone else and divert more money away from the actual programme budget.

PS. These are my only reasons for him to do it.

NOT Vernon Kay. Anyone but VK! I can't stand Bruce, but I'd keep him if Vernon Kay was the only other option!

So Dale Winton it is then!

It has to be a song and dance man or woman.
Robert Lindsay
(Me and My Girl, Oliver.....)
Michael Crawford (not likely but he would be a joy)
Paul Nicholas ( Hair, JC Superstar)
Michael Starke ( Sinbad, played many musical parts, Hairspray,Rocky Horror and more)
Michael Ball ( numberous musicals, very likable)

*Long Shot* Alan Cumming or Jim Dale

Forgot to say, the BBC probably want a male so the show appeals to both genders. I would be happy with any of the above presenters as they seem pleasant and professional.

That the bunny.

I'd like to see either Brian Conely or Steve Jones take over from Brucie.
(And Claudia to replace Tess!)

Michael Ball
Anton du Beke
Paul O'Grady
Des O'Connor

Preferably either of the first two

Paul O'Grady
Graham Norton (he looked like he was doing a good job taking over from El Tel on Eurovision and he was alright doing the amateur version)
Possibly Anton du Beke
Aled Jones
I've heard worse suggestions than Micheal Ball (he obviously loves the show, seems likeable and forfills the singer/dancer slot Brucie allegedly did)

Please dear God not - Vernon Kay or Des O'Connor (he makes my flesh crawl). I don't like Steve Jones either. Robbie Corbett was awful too so ignore any of Brucie's suggestions as to whom should replace him. I think John Barrowman and Wossie would make the show about them which is what's becoming increasingly wrong with Brucie IMO.
