Having seen Brian Conley on Grumpy Old...last night I think he'd be really good. He's certainly got personality and that's something I find lacking in Matt Baker, Gethin and Aled, they're too nice, too ordinary and I think you need a bit of showbiz pizzazz to present Strictly.

I still think GN would be the best but BC would be more unpredictable and off the wall, which could be very entertaining (keep Tess on her toes) and annoying in equal measure - and probably inspire lots of threads on this forum.

I'd like Matt Baker to be the host when Brucie goes in 2012

Graham Norton - can do Saturday night judging shows, can be family friendly, empathetic to contestants, BBC mainstay.

Brian Conley -very funny, very showbiz. Probably wouldn't want to give up his annual panto commitment though.

Brendan Cole - why not? Have seen his live show and he is an accomplished host.

Gethin, Steve or Aled Jones. No, no, no, no no, no, no. I firmly believe that these shows need a touch of humour and I don't see any of these three providing it. That goes for Matt Baker as well.

I like the suggestion of Fern Britton - lots of experience, fun and a twinkle in her eyes.

How about Rob Brydon? I think he'd be fun.

Kirsten O'Brien would make a nice presenter- and she has a bit more behind the eyes than Tess. Although I'd love Kirsten has a contestant too!

If Bruce does go then I would hope for Vernon Kaye.

Sod Vernon Kaye, Peter Kaye would be a million times better.

I quite like Aleksander Orlov too, that smoking jacket/cravat combo is very suave.

Noooo to Fern, but Rob Brydon would be good. Deffo not Steve Jones or Vernon Kaye Gethin, Aled, Matt are all lovely but not really right for this (IMO) Graham Norton would be ok too

Shane Richie's very good on Sky3's show Don't forget the Lyrics.

If he toned it down a bit for SCD he's an excellent ad libber and moves a show on nicely.
