the HTC Desire/HD is so much better than any iPhone... ditch it for a desire, u will be blown away and won't look back..
or if u want something more expensive... get a galaxy tab.. iphones are just over rated and quite out dated now... ![]() OP, my dad has a htc and is trying to transfer songs over from iTunes, it's proved really tricky as apple like to lock things down, eventually, after trying several pieces of software, my cousin managed to find something that would do it. It's not straightforward my any means though, so you may wish to bare that in mind. Well at least it doesn't seem it. |

Almost the first person to read or answer the question.
However I thought iTunes also sell some DRM free music so that stuff would just copy straight across via the file manager. Or I guess doubletwist as mentioned if conversion needed. Why change though? |

Nothing new there though is it? I'm sick of any thread that's started being hijacked by apple vs htc fanboys, it's so juvenille. They may aswell revert to 'my dad's bigger than your dad'
the wildfire is better than an iPhone ffs... |

My advice would be to go down to a store where they have both on display and have a go on them.
People on here often display a preference for one or the other, I prefer Iphone over HTC, mainly due to the amount of things I have on Itunes. You are the one using it, so take people's comments on board, and go and make an informed choice based on your preference. As long as you choose the Iphone you will make the right choice

I'm relatively surprised that Windows Phone 7 hasn't been suggested yet. I bought an HTC HD7 and fell in love with it. It's worth checking it out. Keep in mind however, that it is still version 1 so there are things missing and some bugs in the system. Of all the bugs I've come across though, they are slight annoyances that can be easily fixed in an update. It's nothing major and WP7 really feels like a solid operating system that's capable of being in the competition.
I've played around with all the iPhones apart from the 1st gen, and I have to say that it's a very nice OS... It's just not for me. I don't really like how it feels, then again I feel the same with all things Apple. I thought that everything on the iTunes store is practically DRM free now? I haven't found anything that is DRM protected. I've never had any problem just copying the music files over to anything I decided I wanted to put them on. Oh yeah... Like what's been said before... You should consider all the things that you may/may not have bought for your iPhone since you got it. The only things you'll be able to take along with you on other devices will be your contacts, photos, music and videos and any documents you might have on there. Keep that in mind. |

CES starts on the 6th - guarantee some new hardware will be announced.
Like THIS - HTC Thunderbolt looks quite special. |

Try something different. My lad just got a windows phone and he tells me its the dogs dangles, he gave me an HTC Dream Android and I'm well impressed with this 'old' phone so perhaps give Android a bash.
Loads of free stuff for the Android, the Skobbler free GPS works well as do Google maps. |

I've got an iPhone 4 and its absolutly fantastic. I can't speak personally about the Android phones except a friend of mine recently got a Wildfire and it feels cheap, he also had a go on my iphone and admitted the wildfire wasn't as good but don't take one persons word for it, go into a phone shop and ask if you can have a play with the handsets

the wildfire is better than an iPhone ffs... We're all different. I have both an Android phone running OS 2.1 and an iPhone 4. I like the iPhone 4 better. I've owned at least 1 phone from every major smartphone OS in the last 7 years and they all have good points and bad points and whether those bad points matter to an individual is based on each person's particular requirements from a phone. |

I'd say, if you are really into more obscure Apps and proper mobile gaming, go for the iPhone. However, if all you want is a phone for the "basics", Facebook/Twitter and the odd game Android is for you - it'll save you money as well. |

Considering the Wildfire costs as little as £130, of course it is going to feel cheap and not be as good. The iPhone costs 4.5x more [but this doesn't mean you get 4.5x more phone for your money].
