Well, I have seen other appreciation threads knocking around so felt like I should post one for my favorite Corrie character/Actress. Plus it's 2011 so I need to do something productive

IMO Jane Danson is one of the best actresses Corrie has, her live episode performance been one of the best. Surely she as to win an award at this years British Soap awards.

I also love her and Peter together, and think Jane and Chris' on screen chemistry is amazing.

She is also one of those characters who can return, bring something to the show and not bore us to death with either dodgy story lines or bad acting.

So hopefully we will be seeing more of her in 2011.

Jane is one of the top actresses in soapland right now,fully deserving of her live episode praise.

Unfortunately for her and Chris Gascoyne they are let down by appearing in scenes with Nick and Tracy.

I'd just like her to put on a tiny bit of weight. Sometimes she looks so drawn and tired for an attractive young woman.

I noticed that in last nights episodes, she sounded tired too.

Completely agree, Jane Danson as Leanne is brilliantly acted, even when she has nothing to say, her facial expressions are excellently portrayed. She truly deserves the recognition and awards.

I enjoy the way her eyes seem to look in different directions, very entertaining.

I think Jane is fantastic and you can see exactly what is going through Leanne's head just from a facial expression.
I think a few other corrie actresses should watch and learn from Jane Danson ( naming no names ).

I'll gladly name some names of so-called 'actresses' who could learn from Jane Danson. Kate Ford should definitely watch and learn from her. Then Jennie McAlpine/Fiz.

Jane Danson is my favourite soap actress. She's just brilliant and a total asset to the cast of Corrie. She excels in every storyline she's given, always makes it believable and gives a stellar performance. IMO she often acts other people off the screen, even if she's just using facial expressions and not speaking any lines. Especially in the live episode, Jane was by far one of the best on the night. She works really well with Chris Gascoyne too.

I just think leanne is a great character and they're very lucky to have such a brilliant actress playing her.

And to think when the Battersby's first arrived people wanted them axed...

Jane Danson has been class these past few weeks.

Funny enough, so has Georgia Taylor who once played her step sister, Toyah Battersby a few years back. She has been class in Casualty recently.

I don't watch Casulty, but I've heard she has been doing well. Would you like to see her in Corrie again?

Yes, I would like to see Toyah Batterbys back in corrie even for just an episode or two. Strange how these family characters rarely come back to see their relations, isnt it?

Well said! Leanne is one of the strongest female characters on the Street ATM. She can convey so many different emotions with the most subtle of facial gestures (take note Jennie McAlpine and Kym Marsh). Her pairing with Peter Barlow has been great for the character as we have seen her mature into a respectable mother figure after her wild days of youth where she worked the streets, became an arsonist and drug addict. Here's hoping that Jane Danson will be given some great material to work with for 2011

Yeah I really love the character of Leanne. Its like she has done a lot of bad or 'dubious' things in the past, but the audience knows that she's actually a good person and always has a good reason for doing things, which makes us like her. I think she is a character that could never be boring, and atm she is my favourite character! Also, Jane Dansen is an amazing actress, especially in that Live Ep, her emotions were totally believable, and if she doesn't win an award it would be a travesty!

I agree with the previous posts, she is a very good actor and did amazing in the live shows and her scenes with Peter and Simon are great. Here's hoping that the writers know how good she is and gives her more airtime unlike some of the dross who are currently taking up screen time.
