Leanne and Nick's flat looks or rather 'looked' to be nice and civilised and elegant, in comparison to what Leanne lived in with Peter. That being said, I think they really have to do something to get back to revealing Leanne's inner life to us again very soon. I haven't posted anything here for a long while now but that's as I'v e been waiting very patiently for something more involved and , enlightning about Leannes's life as it is now to be shown. but it's not happening for me yet. I think she's been sidelined actually as of late, and maybe it's down to Jane having more personal commitments that she has felt comfortable to take a back seat for the moment, but I miss her and it's just so foolish on the part of corrie as she is without doubt the most engaging and sensitive actress they have, when she gets a chance. So more Leanne then, what do you say?

Hello Andrea, hope you're well?

I think Leanne's been on the back burner a bit because some of the other story lines have been on recently that she just won't be involved in i.e. the surrogacy. She's back in now clearly for the build-up to
Spoiler
David's discovery that Kylie slept with Nick
and also because they're back concentrating on Karl, too. She's kinda been on the periphery of both of those things thus far, but presumably will become more involved as time goes on.

Spoiler
Will David's trashing of the flat be the first real impact that the baby story line has had on Leanne's life?

According to a Corrie publicity manager - she's the one I often ask things to on twitter, they moved on from Peter & Leanne a long time ago.. (I asked her about something in inside soap this morning that hinted at a reunion/ moment between them - something about them getting closer and sharing secrets).

(@alikingsarmy no idea where those rumours have come from - we moved on from that a long time ago! )

This makes me wonder if maybe Nick and Leanne will come out of this okay? I hope they do actually as Leanne seems happy at the moment, her attitude with Karl yesterday made me laugh.

You seem to spend so much time panicking about this, at the end of the day no of us are in a position to dictate what will happen in the future, so don't worry about it.

Thank you Gunner, I'm very well and I hope the same goes for you! I'm hoping to see Leanne playing some parts with more depth and not just popping up all of a sudden, making a remark and walking out the door again, which seems to be the norm lately. It'll be good to get an eyeful of the mysterious flat finally and see where she and Nick have been hiding out all this time. I like the look of the flat from what I've seen of it and I'd like to imagine we'll get more scenes of Leanne, Nick and Simon entertaining themselves and being at home in general. I don't know why they don't show the characters sitting mulling over the other people in the street they like and don't like anyhow, it would make it interesting?lol. I've feeling Leanne will forgive Nick over the baby as of now, do you? Especially considering her mixed up feelings at Christmas over Peter, but I think they'll have it to chip away at their relationship over time, as they usually do. I was very disappointed at the time over her showdown with Karl, it was such an anticlimax compared to what I think we'd been promised but I think there's maybe more to come on that score as well.

I don't think that Nick and Leanne will be together forever, they look quite unrealistic as lovers but more like close friends.

While Peter, Leanne and Simon are in the programme, there is always a chance of them being together as a family IMO.

"We're all trying to second-guess which way this storyline is going to go, whose baby it will be, and what the repercussions would be for the two options. At the moment we're not sure what's going to happen - the writers are keeping their cards very close to their chests, as they always do!"

Could Leanne forgive Nick for his deceit?
"Well, technically they weren't together when he got with Kylie. However, with Leanne being the way she is, she doesn't always see the shades of grey - she tends to just think that things are either black or white.

"I know that if Leanne does find out about it, she would punish Nick for making her feel so bad about her discussion with Peter before the wedding. I'll be interested to see how that pans out, as Leanne probably won't take too kindly to it. She doesn't like it when the boot's on the other foot!"

It's no secret that you and Chris Gascoyne really enjoy working together. Are you sad that Leanne and Peter haven't reunited?
"Well, what's nice is that I also get along so well with Ben Price who plays Nick - it's a joy to work with him, too. It's also great that there's always a reason for Leanne to interact with Peter because of Simon, so there's an opportunity for storylines there.

"I've actually just read some scripts where there's a bit more interaction between Leanne and Peter, which is always going to provoke a little bit of drama with Nick. It's just as fun for us when Leanne and Peter are rubbing each other up the wrong way!"

We sometimes see comments on our forums from Corrie fans who miss Leanne's friendship with Carla. Would you like them to get on better terms again?
"It's interesting, because in the early days they were really like best friends. I think if you break down both characters, they're similar in lots of ways. They're both quite lonely and we did have a nice chemistry as friends.

"But I don't really know how you'd get them to be friends again - I'm not sure there's any way for that to happen. Something really tragic would have to happen for them to build bridges. For the moment, they're arch-enemies, and I'm not holding out much hope that will change!"

I am fine, thanks.

Spoiler
I thought that Jack P Shepherd hinted in his interview that the flat was just a temporary thing for the trashing?

I think that it would be really beneficial for us and for Leanne as a character for us to see more of her family life. I remember an interview where Jane said that she thought that Leanne is really good at being a mum – so we really haven't got to see much of what she thrives at.

My opinion is that what I have seen on screen thus far makes me think that Leanne and Nick won't make it. Not that I mind if they do, as if she can find a way past the hurt when everything comes out, then fine. I just think it is one too many knockbacks for her...how can she put any trust in a romantic partner after the last few years? She probably needs a break from relationships and some time by herself/with Simon/with the Prices to help.

I've got mixed feelings about the flat. It's not what I'd pictured in my head at all. In one pic it looks pretty nice, but in another it's a bit bleugh. I think it's a bit of a mish-mash; which probably reflects Corrie's move of quickly throwing it together just for the sake of the SL.

My thoughts are similar to Gunner's. I think she'll be heavily involved in the whole Karl reveal/fallout and obviously she's got the baby fallout to deal with, so I think she's being rested until those SLs come to a head.

I suppose they could get through it on a a tit-for-tat basis (You slept with Kylie??? VS You were ready to ditch me for Peter on our wedding day!)

I honestly don't know where they're going to take Leanne and Nick after this. As I've said before, I can't see Leanne letting it go easily. I'm also interested to see how the Platts are going to come through it.

Maybe there will be one at Media City? One can only hope.

If I recall correctly, Simon appeared the week before last during the Tracey cold-calling malarkey, he was playing with Amy in the Barlows' front room. He didn't have any dialogue, though. I think the last time we saw him with Leanne was when Karl went mad at him, which was some time ago now. Presumably we'll start to see him about a bit more as we get deeper into the baby-reveal plot. It'll be his and Leanne's birthdays soon. I wonder if Simon might have a peaceful birthday this year? Or they may not feature at all.

I forgot to agree with Andrea in an earlier point she made. As much as I am enjoying the way Dev is going about his sleuthing, it would have been nicer if Leanne had been more suspicious of Karl and had done some detective work, too. I don't know, it might have been a bit grittier? Then again, Dev is the one who is most invested in proving Sunita innocent, so it probably makes the best sense as it stands.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend?

I wonder if David's going to disown Nick and Gail. I'm pretty sure him and Kylie will survive, but I can't see David willingly living with Gail or even letting Kylie carry on working at the Bistro.
Again, I suppose Nick could use Christmas against Leanne in order to knock the moral highground from under her, but then JD did say that Leanne has that black and white approach to problems - so maybe she won't let him use the Peter thing as a 'get-out-of-jail-free' card.

Funny you should say that, as a lot of the comments on that article think along the same lines. Leanne has known Jason for a long time, though, so you'd think if anything was going to happen between them, it would have already done so. Plus, seeing as he had a date with Eva and has had a short relationship with Stella, it'd be a bit of an od hat-trick for Jase!

BIB: Less Monopoly, more Infidelity!

With regards to last night's offerings.
I was definitely curious about Eva and Gloria's speculation that Leanne could be pregnant. At least they sort of acknowledged it was possible...but I'd be surprised if that was a story line that was sitting under the radar. It may not mean anything at all.

Other than that it was all a bit back and forth Leanne-wise, not really sure what convinced her that finally attending the pub was a good idea...did miss a few minutes at the start of ep 2 so maybe I missed something?

I thought the reveal with David sitting on the stairs fighting hard to keep in his tears and shock was really, really well done. Looking forward to the rest of it now. Gawd, I wonder how long they can keep it before Leanne knows...

When Peter shows concern for Leanne over the break-in, the cogs start whirring for David. Reminding everyone of their history, David sets about the next stage of his plan and swipes Peter's lighter.

Using the spare key he pocketed, David enters Nick's flat, placing Peter's lighter on the sofa. Back at the bistro, he then sets about planting the seed that maybe Peter's still sniffing around Leanne.

David's got Gail convinced that Peter's sniffing round Leanne and something is going on again. David's secretly thrilled that it's all going according to plan.

When Leanne gets called away by Peter, Gail's immediately suspicious and voices her thoughts to Nick. David's thrilled that his plan seems to be working.

Over a 'brotherly' drink, David sows his seeds of poison in Nick's mind, suggesting there's something going on again between Leanne and Peter. With David's evil words ringing in his ears, Nick returns home and interrogates Leanne.
