Hah...I'll laugh so bloody much if Stella's wedding dress is beige!

Thanks for the spoilers.
Spoiler
I suppose the first one is about the wedding? I thought they'd sorted that out, although the Karl story line has been on the back burner for a bit, so I probably can't remember.

She's digging for the truth? Hide the pepper mill! About bloody time after this series of unlucky coincidences...does this mean that Kylie and Nick have finally twigged that it's David?

I did think that last night there seemed to be little signs that they were all starting to wonder about all the bad luck at the Bistro, let's hope it keeps up! Edit: The suspicion, that is, not the bad luck.

Yeah. I skimmed through the new spoilers last night and it seems that Leanne refuses to be a bridesmaid and that triggers more rows with Eva Going by that picture though, she must have a change of heart?

Well, JD did another Q&A interview about the whole thing and it seems that they're all finally going to twig that something's up

Beige Rolls Royce, beige balloons, beige tablecloths... They should do it, just as a joke.

Spoiler
Thanks for the link. A scathing review on TripAdvisor? At last...she starts to twig something is amiss.

I was in and out during tonight's episode but I liked that Leanne wasn't getting down over all the odd stuff that has been going on and was showing some good solidarity with Nick. I still think that the baby reveal will break them, but they've had some better scenes of late.

I loved the fact that she didn't give a flying one about P&C.

Her and Nick still don't convince me though.

Seems like the baby SL is moving forward soon!

Spoiler
The siblings are at the centre of dramatic scenes after Nick (Ben Price) finally realises that David knows the truth about his one-night stand with Kylie.

Realising that they need to sort this out, Nick braces himself to talk to David (Jack P Shepherd) after they've set off in the Bistro van to run an errand together.

A nervous Nick earnestly apologises to David for what happened with Kylie, claiming that it didn't mean anything to either of them. Nick adds that the secret has caused far too much damage, so he now wants to head home and tell Leanne everything.

Nick's words leave David in a panic, as he fears that the truth will fatally damage his relationship with Kylie.

Making an impulsive but terrible decision, David unfastens Nick's seatbelt and grabs the wheel of the van. As a result, the vehicle careers out of control and into the path of an oncoming lorry…

After the crash, David stirs to life and seems to be okay, but he is horrified to find Nick's bloodied body trapped in the mangled van.

Feeling terrible about how far he's gone, David dials 999 and emergency services soon arrive on the scene to cut Nick free from the wreckage.

Once Nick is finally in the ambulance, it's unclear whether he'll survive, and the situation takes another turn for the worse when his heart stops. A guilty David then reaches breaking point - has he killed Nick?

My musings:

Spoiler
Good grief. It's car accidents galore for all the soaps lately!

I think it's safe to say that Nick isn't going to die! I'm wondering now whether Leanne isn't going to find out until the baby is born and the paternity is finally established? Especially if it really is David's; then you'll have sections of the Platt dynamic all knowing different things.

Kylie/Nick/Gail knew about the ONS
David found out, but hasn't let anyone know
Then David/Nick are aware that David knows, but that's kept hushed up due to this accident...

It's all rather tangled! Only clear thing is that Leanne knows nothing

We have moved house so have been off the internet at home for a while. Just on again this evening - woo hoo!

Can't stop though, so just briefly - where would the soap be without Jane Danson's acting, and that of those brilliant actors, too, portraying Hayles, Royston and Sylvia?
Forget the rest of the storylines, just concentrating on the above will suffice.

The Hayley SL really has got some of the best at the heart of it - just a shame Fiz has to be roped in

So glad for the change of pace with this story line, everything else apart from Hayley's s/l is a bit  for me at the moment. David undoes Nick's seatbelt? Shit, that's awful. I know that he has form, but wow. Shocking. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they keep it ticking over for a while and Leanne is the last to know. I don't suppose that it will be a really, really long-standing secret. I suppose she'll find out at Christmas? That would be my guess. It's a shame that she'll be the last to know yet again, but hopefully there will be some not-too-angsty stuff with the wedding etc before all this unravels completely. The crash is before Karl and Stella's wedding, though, so there might not be much time for calm. b

Hi k9, good to have you back, hope the move went well. I agree totally, I think Emmerdale's on much better form than Corrie at the moment and the Hayley story line is the best thing at the moment. Always loved Stephanie Cole and she's been excellent as Sylvia.

It went very well, thanks.

How stupid and short sighted of Stella to ask Leanne to be a bridesmaid - for one thing it would be obvious she would say no, and for another, it should have been matron of honour not bridesmaid. Silly, silly script.

Yeah, same here. Thought Carla's speech was pretty cringey too. However, I'm guessing it was all set-up like that to reiterate that the love square is finished (for now)

Corrie really is an ordeal at the moment. It's only Leanne's stuff, Karl SL, Roy and Hayley I'm watching it for. The less said about the racism stuff, the better - absolutely dire.

Anyway....

Spoiler
Tbh, nothing David does surprises me anymore. On the plus side, at least he recognises he's gone way too far this time; so we won't have to suffer any scenes of him sitting at Nick's bedside, glaring at him. I remember Ben Price saying that it's all going to turn very dark with Nick so I'm looking forward to where it's going.

Well, Leanne is at the wedding so I assume Nick's well enough for her not to be keeping a bedside vigil, The timeline really confuses me! I can't guess when it's all going to come out anymore

Glad it all went ok

What Stella should really stop doing is turning up at the Bistro to ask these things! She did the same when asking Leanne to pump money into the Rovers; just turned up with Karl and Gloria

Tempting as that sounds, k9, I think I'll pass

Re spoiler: Wow. Are they really going to run it that long? If that's the case then I really can't see Leanne finding out anytime soon. I'm intrigued about this 'big change' in Nick. Wonder if he's going to develop a real sinister edge? I must say, I'd quite like that. Some times psycho-ing a character up makes them more exciting/interesting (for me anyway )

As for tonight... *sigh* There's no way that Leanne would really be that bothered about Eva slagging her off. There's no love lost between them, so I found it ridiculous that Leanne stormed into the factory the way she did. Dodgy writing strikes again

I thought last night was a bit OTT, too. It's not like Eva and Leanne have ever had a good, stable relationship, so why would she really be bothered? Since when was David the source of all reasonable knowledge? I considered that perhaps it was partly a means to an end and that its about some of the truth about David coming out slowly - simply because Stella and Eva wondered how Leanne knew all about it.

It was nice that David's sabotage wasn't completely successful, however.

It took too ridiculously long! Nick dim but nice or maybe not always nice ....

I think, maybe, I can see the writers' thinking now:

We have read that Nick turns "dark" after the crash; so perhaps he becomes more and more difficult to live with, and Peter becomes Leanne's knight in shining armour?

I'm actually looking forward to Evil Nick! If this change means that he's going to stop being a total doormat for Leanne, then I'm all for it! He really needs to stop rolling over every time she barks. As much as I love her, Nick was right when he said it was her fault for him being alone on Christmas night.

I think Peter's got his own (crappy) SL to be getting on with, so I can't see him involved. But you can dream, k9

It was, and she had already said that it was before he said it.

Oh I think that Peter is even more of a doormat with Carla than Nick has been with Leanne, and he is going along with her wedding proposal for a quiet life, you know him; but later, much later .... one never knows!

I like the fact that it's been remembered that Peter gets all insecure when the woman is the stronger partner. He had issues when it was Leanne, now these issues have shown up with Carla.

As an aside: I hate seeing him in the factory. He doesn't belong there. Peter was never 'flash'. The bookies was perfect for him, but now Captain Cardboard and the murderer have taken over

I think Nick's darkness will more likely be about a possible revenge on David. I can't really blame him for wanting to get even.

I felt it was another mixed bag tonight. From the initial fun Leanne and Nick had in the morning to the letter and her mistrust. I felt a Bit sad that she'd actually unearthed the truth bbut it was shrouded with lies again. Interesting that she also admitted that the truth wouldn't be the end of their marriage - but again, the lie continues to snowball.

Tired of the Eva squabbling to be honest, wish they'd inject some consistency in their relatonship rather than the constant back and forth.

I'm really hoping that they're not just going to reverse the situation; ie. Nick covertly causing trouble while David's looking all bewildered and going "Who'd do summat like that?!"

N&L felt more couply tonight, well, at the start. Nick even looked relaxed I liked the BIB because it showed that she is aware of what she did; I'm just wondering if she'd keep to what she said if she knew it was Kylie and not just a random woman Nick picked up. Either way though, the marriage will definitely be on the critical list due to Nick lying. I wonder why he didn't just admit to sleeping with "someone" instead of flat out denying the entire thing.

And I pretty much said what you have re Eva on the ep thread. Having them at war all the time is tedious. Leanne really needs some female friends!

BIB: Yeah, let's hope not. I don't suppose Nick has any reason to be covert about it (depending on how legal his revenge may or not be), although one could argue that the easiest way he could get his own back is simply getting on with his life, business and marriage and being happy. I enjoyed evil David at first but it has gone way too far now and I hope Kylie also calls him on this behaviour when it all comes out. She seemed pretty unimpressed by the cowardly letter.

You make a good point that it'll probably be a different situation altogether when Leanne finds out that it is Kylie and that there's also the question of paternity. It was good that Leanne admitted culpability with regard to Christmas and that she does realise that her own actions play a part in the situation. Of course, that situation was only hypothetical in her mind because of the letter, whereas we all know it is an actual reality. I think Nick definitely made it worse by not offering the truth there where Leanne definitely wanted it, but we can see from his "Anything for you" mindset that he'[s really scared of losing her and therefore willing to keep perpetuating this lie. Will be interesting to see what happens now that he knows that David knows and therefore, there's one less person who needs protecting from the truth.

I don't know why they can't just sit down and talk it out and try and forge some kind of peace. I did feel bad for Eva being accused etc and she must be frustrated that Stella is always willing to stick up for Leanne, but it's all tiresome. That said, I can understand why Leanne wouldn't want to be terribly forgiving given Eva's role at Christmas and that might linger. I just wish they'd either plain dislike each other or get on, not something in between.
