Nice to see Corrie remembered Leanne's fertility issues and it was good to see that conversation about it between Kal and Leanne and not swept under the carpet. I found it so sad when Erica announced she was pregnant, you could see Leanne's face drop Especially when she wanted a baby so bad with Peter.

Hope your well MsWilder x

Aw, damn! I've not watched the last few episodes of Corrie , there was Leanne stuff? I've sort of got used to her not appearing so I've disengaged viewing again; was only going to tune back properly for when this Simon/Leanne plot kicks in but if she's popped up recently then I'll have to hit ITV Player.

Thanks for the well-wishes, Gracie x Things are a bit better at the moment so I'm doing what I can when I can. It was my birthday on the Bank Holiday so I'm happy I managed to have a good couple of nights out!
Hope everyone else is well and hope you enjoyed your holiday, K9!

Yes, she was, I was as shocked as you! it was 4th May (your birthday!). I'm glad you had a lovely birthday and holiday. Fingers crossed your recovery keeps on improving. I'm good, it's been over a month since I was sick, I think that is a world record.

You haven't missed much apart from the tedious David/Callum custody battle and Mary's motorhome getting towed. I started shaving my legs on Friday's episode it was that bad.

How is everyone?

Nice to see Leanne unleashing her inner Battersby on Friday, Tony finally got his comeuppance and it is great seeing Leanne having a good old Battersby fight, loved her shouting "shut your face Barlow".

But the scene I loved the most was Leanne and Kal eating chips with silly lovey banter and snogging against the Rovers wall, in a sort of a immature teenage way (oh no I never did that as a teen..) it just felt we finally got those normal couple scenes we've been waiting so long for but it's a waste of time now

Hi, all!

I hope everyone is well.

Gracie and MsW – I hope you're both feeling better now?

I hope you had a good birthday, MsW?

I've been lurking as I've been watching Corrie intermittently but I had a good look at the omnibus this morning and hurray, it was so good to see some Leanne action. I've always loved it when she fights with Tracy and it was so good that she wasn't intimidated by Tony. The one-liners were flying in and the radios were flying about!

I have to agree, Gracie, it was sweet that Leanne and Kal were loved up, but, as you say, we've seen so little of their relationship that it just doesn't feel consistent. Moreover, Yasmeen was commenting about Kal being back at home – correct me if I'm wrong because I may well have missed it – have we actually seen him at Leanne's since he moved in?

Thanks for the heads-up on the 4th May episode, I definitely didn't see that one (Arsenal match), so I'll check that.

*Waves to Gunner* Nice to see your still watching Corrie.I would much rather watch football too. I am much better apart from a bit of a sniffle last week, Hope your well!

No I don't think we have seen Kal in the flat since he moved in but we've rarely seen Leanne at all apart from the odd scene in the Bistro. Which is annoying as we needed to see their relationship grow, just those normal domestic scenes. I mean would it kill them for them doing one scene in the flat where Leanne is complaining about Kal leaving the toilet seat up or whatever.

Yes a slanging match with Tracy is always good viewing

*Waves to k9* Cheers for the pics

Hey, everyone! Sorry I've not popped in for a while Thanks for the bday well wishes and the general well wishes. I had a good two weeks' respite from my back issues, but they've (inevitably) returned *roll eyes* Swings and roundabouts, really. Hope everyone else is good! It's great to see you posting too, Gunner!

I had a quick scan of the thread to see if there was any Leanne action and was intrigued by the mention of the Tony confrontation so, naturally, I had to hit catch up! That Battersby side will never die Although that's the second time she's ransacked somewhere to 'win' an argument - I hope that this whole smashing stuff up thing isn't going to be her go-to solution for everything!

I think it's a no-brainer to join all the dots re Kal's exit. Him proposing and then dying is the perfect combination of bittersweet tragedy that Leanne doesn't get enough of... The scenes of them being all cute and coupley were nice but, as has been said above, too little too late. How are we really supposed to care about their relationship when barely any time has been spent on seeing it?! It's going to be hard to imagine Simon getting cut up about it either since, again, I can't recall any depth being created.

Speaking of Simon; either he's been AWOL for a while or I just haven't been paying attention because when I saw him in the Tony/Zeedan stuff I was like He's really grown up and it was quite startling to me! I'm starting to feel a little anxious for Leanne now because I can totally see this new, adolescent Simon smacking her about a bit. It just feels like only yesterday that he was still a little kid.

I think looking at tommorow night clips that simon will go and see nick but the fire spread and Leanne and Kal going looking for him.

I liked the scenes with Leanne Kal and simon.

I saw the last few minutes.

Who was Simon dancing with?

Why was Amy with Carla? She could have stayed with Grandad Ken.

And doesn't Carla's flat have two bedrooms?

Gunner I don't support any UK teams really, though I am always happy when Southhampton F.C (my dad is from Southhampton) win, I am big supporter of the NZ A league team Wellington Phoenix. Who do you support again? I'm sure your've mentioned it before but I've forgotten

Leanne does seem to love to smash things up! First the Bistro, now Barlows Buys.

Glad I am not the only one noticing how much Simon has grown up, I felt so old last night when Simon starting taking an interest in girls. He hasn't appeared much and I would say thats because other major storylines have been going on. I still can't believe Simon isn't a little boy anymore, brings back so many memories of the Peter / Leanne / Simon days, I remember when Simon begged Peter to go to Leeds to find Leanne or when he named his rabbit Leanne. Feels like a lifetime ago. This is the same boy who will start abusing Leanne I am really worried about Leanne being so isolated, especially with Eva away but Jane was on Good Morning Britain (interview on their website) and revealed..

Kal managed to get Simon to pluck up the courage to ask a girl on a dance.

Not sure about Carla's bedroom, I would have thought she would have two.

Jane Danson has really stood out this week (even if some of the writing for Leanne wasn't great) and showed her capabilities as a great actress IMO

First off the fire, I know its had quite a bit of criticism on the main forum, Facebook, Daily Fail etc especially Leanne stopping halfway down the ladder to say yes to the proposal but I did find it romantic, like Leanne was saying goodbye and it was their 'moment'. Yes it did seem ridiculous that Amy, Kal and Leanne were faffing about inside the flat and then on the ladder as they had to wait for Amy to get the courage to go down the ladder, then they had to wait until she got to the bottom, all in all I still thoroughly enjoyed the fire and it was great drama. It was great to see this different side of Leanne, putting aside her differences and risking her life, then again to go back in to get Amy.

Well after last night's episode there goes my theory of Carla and Leanne becoming friends again. The first scene with Nick where she went to put the kettle on but he stopped her broke my heart By the looks of things Nick is going to be a really good friend, I think I have fallen in love with their friendship. That scene with Carla was awful to watch But I remember her saying "I will never forgive you for this" when Peter and Carla's affair came out for wrecking their family and yet in time she did. You can tell how much Kal meant to Leanne and how happy she was. Ditto Leanne's face when she got told Kal had died.

Did anyone else find it a bit off that Yasmeen broke the news to Simon about Kal's death? I really felt that should have been Leanne's job, tbh I don't know why the writers are still treating Simon as if he is 6. He is almost 12 for goodness sake, he should be able to handle death by now IME (sadly I have had a lot of experience in this subject) In reality Leanne should have told him the night he died and not kept it hidden but you know the writers they want everyone else to get 'through' to Simon but Leanne.

It's times like this I really miss St Ella, I know she had her problems but she was always a good support to Leanne. I thought she would be on the first flight back.

Most of all, a massive well done and thank you do Jane. All her scenes have been fantastic this week, especially the scene with Nick and the other with Carla at the end of last night's episode. That broke my heart. So good to see she's finally getting something decent to do.

Thanks.

Hope all, including computers, are okay / better.

Again Last Night, I thought Jane Danson's performance as Leanne was brilliant. The scenes with Nick and the confrontation with Carla were quite powerful. I felt she also outshone everyone else in the scene where Yasmin tells Simon about Kal's death.

Leanne and Nick's scene was very powerful. Glad that they have moved on and he will be there to support her. If Alison King does leave for good and Peter comes back then I wouldn't be surprised if him and Leanne get back together.

Agree with above positive posts.

The following, for me, is a total suspension of reality. It makes a mockery, even more than recently with his "close friendships" of Tina and Maddie, of the custody battle. He adores Leanne and he chose to be with her.

I was impressed with Jane this week as she had to act out delight, fear and bereavement for Leanne all in the same week. I even found her gorgeous in her dressing gown with smart hair at the start of the week.
