Yeah I agree, he can't see past his d1ck at the minute. This is actually in character for Peter, the more people are against him and Carla the more he'll put her first... I wonder what Leannes relationship will be like with Simon when she gets back?

I think she'll revel in the fact that Simon will want to be with her rather than Peter and Carla. I said in another thread, it'd be good (imo) to see her scheming side resurface and have her call Social Services and tell them Simon's in a dangerous environment living with two unstable alcoholics. I don't want her coming back and moping about.

That would be great! I want her to be fiesty when she gets back and I hope she doesn't take any shit from Peter or Carla. Is it next Friday she's backor the following week? I can't wait!! I wonder how Peter willplay it if Carla brings booze to the flat. I could see him going on the booze.
But it's really time she showed some attitude now re P&C. Not that I'm saying I want her to turn into a full on bitch like Tracy, but I think she's been the little wife long enough. She should stay loyal and motherly to Simon obviously but after all the tears and hurt she showed before she left, she needs to bounce back. Jane can do bitchy Leanne so well ![]() BIB - Peter could only be Carla's 'rock' while he had Leanne to support him. Left to his own devices he'll probably fall off the wagon with Carla and then neither of them will have the other to turn to. |

I also hope her and Simon stay close and that she will continue to be his mum. And yes without Leanne running left right and centre, working at the bookies and watching Simon all the time Peter might have to actually step up and live in the real world. Did they ever factor Simon in this relationship?

ITA Jane does bitchy Leanne fabulously.... I hope she comes back with her head held high and shows Peter what he's given up. Do you know something I'm not sure I even want them to get back together down the line now. Peter has shown himself to be a real snake. He has so many negitive qualities and brings so little to their relationship...I think Leanne deserves more.

Peter kept saying he had to 'think of Si', but he doesn't. I didn't hear SImon mentioned once when Peter was talking about moving away and starting again. |

BIB 1 - I know what you mean. The way Peter's reverted back to being a selfish, weak, waste is so annoying. I hate how he is now and wouldn't want Leanne to get back with him anytime soon. I miss the Peter who saw Leanne as the love of his life and almost killed Nick for coming between them. I miss the Peter that rejected Carla and told her Leanne was the one. Even if he did a U-Turn back to Leanne, I don't think I could ever like him as much as I used to.

ITA even when he was on about their future it was all I ccan't wait to wake up with you every morning and to show you off I find Carla will have a big shock when it come to Simon And I have absolutly no sympathy for her, I'll never forget the time she said " she isn't even his mum."

Seems Leanne may have a few pieces to pick up when she gets back, at least where Simon is concerned. I'm sure the novelty of sleeping on Toyah's couch will last for a while, though.

I wish Becky was still around... I think her and Leanne could have been good mates if they were given the chance.

Now that you mention it, did Leanne and Becky ever even share a scene together!?

Leanne is one of my favourite characters. I can't stand the whole Peter/Carla storyline. It actually made me stop watching Corrie for a while. I hate Carla. Why does she always go after married men? I can't wait until Leanne is back. I hope Simon gets to go live with her.

Even Carla told him to be with Simon and Peter still said no!! The sooner Leanne's back to look after Simon, the better! She's a better mother than Peter is a father imo.

One of the best aspects of him since his return in 08 (I think it was 08) was how much he slowly improved as a Dad. All that development was undone with this storyline, I felt. He's behaving like he did when he first took guardianship of Simon, when he didn't even want him; as the months passed though, he was shown to be a capable (infrequent binges aside) and loving Dad. I still can't believe he let Simon return to his room distraught just so he could keep Carla around; the way he's behaved recently, it's not surprising, but I still don't find it realistic that he'd do that after the progress he's made as a Father. |

That was seriously poor writing for Peter; one thing I'm going to say is that despite the fact he's been a complete and utter tool for the past few weeks, he's neglected Simon too much. And believe it or not, that is out of character.

So Leanne must end up living at the Rovers with Stella. Wonder if that'll push Eva out to Nick's or whether they'll develop the Leanne/Eva feud. I can't see where else Leanne will go if Carla ends up in the bookies' flat.

Which is pretty much the worst thing he could do where Simon's concerned. Way to let the kid adjust, Peter.
