The ones towards the end are a bit
but liking the first lot ![]() Looking to see if there's any Leanne tonight and all I've found is: + Leanne snaps at Nick after another run-in with Peter. + Leanne opens up to Nick about her heartbreak over Peter and now Simon - but is there still unfinished business between them? Please, please PLEASE don't put Nick and Leanne back together! I hate that he seems to be the only option for her. She should either get a shiny new love interest (preferably NOT Carla's brother) or just stay on her own for a while and focus on Simon. BIB -

I get the feeling that Nick would always be there as a good friend, nothing more.
I'm hoping that doesn't happen though. Not only because it's too predictable, but also because Leanne's made progress with Eva. It'd be a shame to destroy that fragile relationship already. Given time, I think they'd work really well as sisters. |

I don't know. He obviously still wants her. If she gave him the green light, he'd be there like a shot. If Leanne had a weak moment, she'd easily let Nick back in.

I hope it doesn't happen, too. She and Eva could work well as sisters; and she and Nick as only good friends.

http://www.itv.com/coronationstreet/...une-wed13june/Even in such a distressing situation, Peter dim and not nice did the wrong thing - he should have had Leanne there with him (Si's stepmother), not his girlfriend. Silly man; ticked the wrong box again. |

I don't think Peter was ever keen on having another child. He said as much when Leanne miscarried. He wasn't bothered when their trying had no result, whereas Leanne was frantic and started thinking about IVF. I think Peter went along with it back then for her sake. I don't think he was against Leanne getting pregnant, but I don't think he'd have been disappointed it never happened.

Pleaaase don't put them back together! Although in the same vein, I bought TV Times today with the Chris Gascoyne interview and they asked this: "Many of our readers liked Peter and Leanne as a couple. Do you see them getting back together one day? Yeah, I think so. Peter can’t carry on chasing women and robbing banks forever. It’s hard work and I’m getting too old for it! Leanne gave him stability in his life and maybe that’s what he needs." I know he's been terrible and an absolute disgrace to her but I still so, so want this to happen! |

Massively agree with this! I think it'd be pretty unrealistic if they did put them back together - I mean like you said, Nick obviously still wants her, but I need convincing that she's got feelings for him.

Argh, Chris and his vague view on things!! I wish he'd give some clear indication!! I don't know how I feel about them reconciling now. When they split I was praying for them to get back together because I loved their little family so much. Then Peter went totally poisonous and treated Leanne so badly, so I ended up loathing him and thinking Leanne was best out of it. Now, after hearing about the upcoming scenes, I can imagine seeing the softer side of Peter again and wondering if they could reunite. Only problem is that he'd have to be genuinely remorseful and apologise profusely about how he turned on Leanne - and I don't think Peter does genuine anymore so I'm not sure I'd believe him

I wouldn't trust Peter as far as I could throw him. He has been untrustworthy for a long, long time. Poor Shelley. Poor Leanne. It could be poor Carla.
But I gave him another chance in case he was being given a redemption story, but he blew it, dim and not nice Peter. However, I think that Leanne still loves him. |

Is it next week Simon ends up in hospital due to drinking Carla's wine? How horribly sad that he is using alcohol to cope just as the adults he lives with do. If this doesn't bring Peter to his senses then I don't know what will.

Well hello, Leanne lovers!
I know a few of you on Twitter but I have finally decided to bite the bullet and join in with the debate. Besides, it can be pretty hard to get everything you want to say across in 140 characters! Anyway, it promises to be an interesting summer for Leanne, let's hope there will be some good storylines. A word on Jane. I first remember seeing her in Out of Tune on CBBC in about 1995, 1996, something like that? Love her in that and have followed her on and off since. Have watched Corrie regularly since early 2010 and it became must-see for me from the tram crash onwards, I guess. I think one of the most important things with me in a performance is empathy, and God, does Jane make me empathise with Leanne. Her performance in the episode where the affair was revealed (Feb 2nd this year, I think) was outstanding. It had such a spectrum of emotion. |

Thanks for the link.
I don't remember James Corden being in it at all. Looking forward to tomorrow's hour-long ep, even if all that drama will come after the England match! |

![]() ![]() ![]() I have decided to try to ignore spoilers and rumours. The actors and actresses change their thoughts now and then anyway about what might happen

I wonder if actors and actresses get confused at times when the storylines change as do their characters and personalities - for example:
not so long ago Peter was saying to Leanne that she must certainly always be able to see Simon and that she is a mother to him - now, a complete turnaround; and he is showing his nasty real self to Carla now. and Sunita's change totally drastic! |

Thanks for the link, k9fan, I'll check that out later. Have you watched GBH, which was, I think, her first TV appearance? I'm still working my way through the DVD, it's a very interesting early 90s drama.
Anyway. Great couple of episodes this week with good performances all round. I thought the little scene that Leanne had with Stella on Wednesday was really well done. Leanne's cutting remark about her abandonment tempered with her regret and Stella's encouragement to fight for Simon seemed very consistent with their relationship. They'll still have awkward moments about the past – something that I'd really like the writers to explore further. As much as I understood Leanne's rage in the hospital, I would have preferred it if she'd reeled it in a bit when her and Peter were in with Simon, because it wasn't really helping him recover.
