I'm quite sad the extra episode spree appears to be over, I was particularly enjoying the Sunday night eps, the perfect tonic before Monday morning.

I do hope we get to see Leanne, Stella and Eva actually out on the town tomorrow night, could make for some interesting action.

My husband mentioned that Jane's hair seemed to change colour this evening - from blonde to light brown / blonde later in the programme.


Thinking back to not long ago, something preying on my mind is Peter saying to Leanne that he would never give her a divorce.

I thought her hair changed during the ep, too! Definitely looked darker in the bar/restaurant.

I like Eva (although her character could really use some more fleshing out), but I agree with Stella, her going on is getting a bit like a stuck record. It was such a shame that Leanne and Eva were still at war when Stella really needed them to pull together. I think part of it comes down to Eva's immaturity – if she'd have taken just a moment to understand the context of Leanne's misgivings about Rob, she might have taken them on board.

I'm so annoyed at this whole Eva/Leanne thing! Eva should get over the Nick thing, but then Leanne should really just leave Eva and Rob. The whole faux-rivalry can only go so far before it gets dull. I was hoping that the pair of them would forget their beef and just be there for Stella.

I'm worried that they're turning Leanne into a harridan tbh. She just seems to be moaning about everything and everyone

What I love about that scene is the random egg in the bag! I'm not sure why there would be a loose egg in a bag of veg, but it is brilliant all the same.

k9, your point about the divorce. Do we see this happening off-screen in the next couple of months? Will it just get talked about and done (I'm not sure how that would even work in real life with Peter being on a boat in God knows where, but this is Corrie we're talking about!) or will we have to wait for the return?

I don't see why Leanne and Eva have to get on just because they are related through Stella; you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family.

They have the same biological mother but have not known one another until recently. It's all been rather rushed, in my opinion - there's your biological mother, oh and she has another daughter, now all get on well together

Re a divorce or not - for whatever reason, Peter said he would never give Leanne a divorce and he was still wearing his wedding ring when he left. Leanne has never said she wants a divorce, and we know that she still loves him.

Yeah, tbh in my head it doesn't really work or make sense but I'm pretty sure when Peter returns he will either be separated from Carla/ and or still wearing his wedding ring and although I think it's a stupid direction to go in, I see them reuniting when he returns.

I understood her concerns over Rob too (and I agreed with them!!) but it really wasn't the time or the place to start on about him. It was a night for hatchet burying not for rowing over men. Leanne seems to have a happy knack of picking the wrong moments to voice her concerns about people eg. the black widow comment.
Plus the fact, Leanne seems to come across now like she's the big expert on relationships; eg, her little rant about Rob/Eva and also when she was saying that she'd have told Stella about Karl/Sunita. It seems to me that she's sceptical of relationships in general now, and I'm wondering whether this is a result of what's happened with Peter.



I've a feeling that there won't be a divorce at all. I still believe there will be a reunion at some point - hence no-one initiating divorce proceedings and Peter coming out with that line about his wedding ring. I'd be worried if I were Carla. Plus we can see that Leanne blatantly still loves Peter and she seems to be slowly trying to wheedle her way back into his life (having Simon/running the bookies)


I don't know what angle the writers are going for with Eva/Leanne but I agree that, whatever it is, it's been done too fast. One minute they're enemies, the next, sisters and just as they're getting somewhere, they're made enemies again!
The fact that they don't really know each other brings me back to my annoyance that no sisterly bond has been built/shown to be built. I'd probably care a lot more for their interaction if they'd been shown to be getting closer or whatever. Instead it's as if two strangers are just rowing over men

Success!!! Leanne and Eva are actually going to try harder to get along! Hooray! Please let them get through at least one episode and not bicker! I got slightly annoyed at Leanne tonight when she started sniping - give it a rest, Stella needs comforting!!

I suppose you're right, k9, Eva and Leanne don't have to be friends. Stella seems desperate for them to get on, though. I agree that it would be better if they had built up some kind of relationship. I suppose all the other plots at the same time left little room for any of that.


BIB: Totally, yeah. Which makes her getting into one with Nick even more troublesome! Her comment to Karl on Monday was something like, "You're all the same." All three ladies probably feel a bit like that, as hadn't Eva's boyfriend/fiancé cheated on her just before or just as she was introduced as a character?

Exactly! This is why I found the whole "sister betrayal" thing with Nick unbelievable. Eva going on about how much she loved Leanne just didn't work.


Nick's the confirmation that she's lost faith in the whole concept of a loving relationship. Leanne's stated twice that she's following her head, not her heart And yes, Eva did arrive on the Street fresh from a broken relationship with a cheating man!
I do have to say though, the glares from the three of them when they caught Karl and Sunita were brilliant!

As for tonight.....I could've dealt with anyone else having a pop at Leanne, but Sunita?! :sleep: Fresh from destroying Dev and trying to do a Barlow-like thing of patching up the broken family with a shiny new partner, she decides to try to knock Leanne down? Ha! Not likely. She may have (annoyingly) had a point, but it didn't really hit the mark. Leanne had the best reaction of just laughing in her face and belittling the declarations of love.

Karl's only there because Stella doesn't want him. It's embarrassing really. Even worse is he still doesn't know that it was Sunita who orchestrated the discovery! Can't wait until he finds that one out!

Really? I've seen it a few times. It was back during the Jez Quigley days - which I've given a lot of thought to recently due to New Ryan's SL. I'll be amazed if Leanne's old coke habit isn't touched upon at some point during this SL. I'd like it if she shared her experience and tried to help convince Ryan to give it up. Leanne and Steve both know how bad things can get when pulled into the murky world of drugs/drug dealers, so both their experiences could be key to helping Ryan.This is all wishful thinking of course, but it'd be a nice little acknowledgement of Corrie history imo.

BIB: I always wondered why it never featured at any point over the last few years. She knows what it is like to struggle with and overcome an addiction, so I don't know why it never became part of her story lines with Peter? Obviously it was something that happened a long time ago and when she was still relatively young, but there still must have been something inside her that made her susceptible to an addiction? It would be good writing and a good nod to history if it could be woven in to the upcoming story lines. I'm not sure if it is meant to be the case that Leanne just wants to leave it in her past and therefore never discussed it?

Something I was thinking about the other day. Leanne's related to Chesney (by marriage), right? Yet I can't remember them ever having a scene in the last few years. I can't recall there being an argument or anything, so why do they never talk?

Annoyingly though, I think your theory of Leanne just not wanting to mention it again is right. Personally, I think it'll be a huge mistake if it's not brought up soon re Ryan. Steve is going to be involved in Ryan's SL obviously, but it was through Steve that Leanne got involved with Jez in the first place. I'll be annoyed if it's ignored ,quite frankly, because it'd be a perfect opportunity to remember Leanne's history. I don't think Stella knows about the coke habit yet so that would be another thing to explore.

Plus, if she showed her extreme regret over those coke days, instead of ignoring them like they didn't happen, then maybe it'd shut up the permanent cries of "ex-junkie/ex-druggie" on the main forum - although that's wishful thinking on my part


Leanne's Les' daughter, but Chesney's Cilla's son. So there's no blood link, but I can't actually recall any Leanne/Chesney interaction ever!
