It wouldn't have to be anything big, just an indication of how it is all going, as it is still a fairly new setup and surely the doubts must still be lingering?

See this is why I worry about what could happen to Leanne. It's as if they don't want her to work away from the love square. Nick and Leanne are pretty much a sham, but that can't be exposed yet. Instead they could be underused until P&C come back, then they'll be brought back to the forefront.

I don't know what these twists and turns that Collinson hinted at for the future story lines might be, but hopefully it won't be all tied in with the return. I suppose we'll next see Leanne in some meatier scenes when Gloria arrives.

Good point, k9 – if Paul hasn't sold his house then he could sleep there.

BIB - Ahhh of course! Gloria! Shame on me for totally forgetting about her Don't blame me too much though, Corrie's been pretty dodgy lately, last night's was awful.

Hope you're feeling a little better now and that the antibiotics are kicking in? Lord knows what the twists and turns will be, no doubt it won't be anything good...Or perhaps I'm just being too cynical?

I'm really looking forward to Sue Johnston's arrival. I think the four characters of Leanne, Eva, Stella and Gloria would be a great example of strong women all from the same family.

And this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPqtwdoRjBs had better be playing on the jukebox in The Rovers when she turns up!

Well, a lot of the infection has been killed off, but I still wasn't great after the first course of antibiotics had ended. Had to go back to the doctors today for a new course and more ear spray. Said it may take another two weeks to clear completely Thanks for asking

So Corrie....

These "twists and turns" fill me with apprehension. If a pregnancy isn't thrown in at some point (either Leanne or Carla) I'll be amazed. Imagine Leanne and Peter reunite, only for Leanne to find out that she's pregnant with Nick's baby Sadly, it could happen!!

I'm in total agreement with seeing a Gloria/Stella/Leanne/Eva foursome. It'd be kind of like the Slater sisters' debut in Eastenders All four of them running the pub taking no shiz from anyone! It needs to happen!!

Love the link! Although THIS always plays in my head when I think about Sue's arrival

BIB - Nothing wrong with being cynical! One of the things I'm best at

No problem, hope it continues to get better.

BIB: Hmm. That would be an interesting role reversal, seeing as Peter was/is so aggrieved at Nick being a part of Simon's life. As far as we know, though, nothing has changed since Christmas with Leanne's difficulty to conceive, so it would probably be a bit of a shock – although not impossible.

Imagine all the folk that would get barred from The Rovers with all of them in charge, though! They'd never make any money!

I think they'll cling onto the fact that it isn't impossible for Leanne to get pregnant. No-one would be expecting it because the chances are so slim, but it actually happens. Then the "twist" comes in of it being Nick's rather than Peter's. That being said, I wouldn't want this to actually happen, I've just got my "soap writer" head on. It sounds like something they;d do to keep the tension going with the love square

You're right, a lot of residents wouldn't get in the door!! Karl, Sunita? Don't think so. Peter and Carla? Bye now. Rob? You just turn yourself around and toddle out. Gloria will probably having beef with a fair few people so yeah, it probably would close down! Still be funny to watch though.

OT stuff - Started new antibiotics today and all I can say is *vomit smiley*. They've knocked me sideways, not sure I'll be able to manage a week's worth of them

On the plus side, you can't go wrong with 80s cheese!!

Palace lost 4 - 1
But early days as you said

I've had a thought - about Leanne having difficulty conceiving - just supposing that the baby she lost was Nick's and not Peter's? and maybe it is Peter being the problem re conceiving?

Hope you are better soon.

Laura Branigan - I love her voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojD1z...eature=related
I had forgotten she is no longer with us

AND another thought about the issue re Leanne conceiving - she was pregnant when she and Nick were married, remember? and he persuaded her to have an abortion. So, if the issue is with Peter rather than Leanne, maybe Simon is not biologically related to Peter???

Last year, ITV showed a three part documentary called The Corrie Years which featured clips and behind the scenes history behind Coronation Street. They're about to do it again, and starting September 6, there's going to be a six part series. News comes to us via Digital Spy who tell us that Katherine Kelly will be narrating the series.

The first episode will be titled 'Scandals' and Jane Danson will talk about Leanne's bout as a prostitute.

Yikes, haven't popped in here in a while

Reading through the "Corrie Years" link, it says Leanne was forced into prostitution. IIRC, didn't she choose to go into escorting because it paid well? Not like anyone held a gun to her head or anything.

Hope everyone's having a good Bank Holiday?

With regards to being 'forced' into prostitution. When I last watched a bug bunch of old episodes, there was one in July 2010 where Natasha revealed that part of Leanne's past to Nick. Later on in the episode, when Nick asked Leanne why she had done it, she told him that it was because she needed to earn a lot of money in a short space of time. As to why she needed money in a short space of time, I'm not sure. The episodes I'm referring to are in early july 2010 (as they feature Simon's birthday - and what a quiet affair it was too!) and Ireally recommend them because they show so many sides of Leanne - she's happy, sad, vulnerable and strong throughout.

Well the Bank Holiday has met it's expectations - awful weather and absolutely nothing on TV!

Ahhh, the Nick/Natasha/Leanne thing. That's sort of when the whole Nick/Leanne affair was on the horizon. I remember Natasha, during her exit, telling Peter to ask Leanne if she loved him. Had an uneasy feeling then because it was hinting at Peter/Leanne going down the toilet
I can't actually recall Leanne saying the short space of time thing, but then again my memory isn't great sometimes

What did you think about my thoughts the other day re maybe the issue of conceiving being Peter's problem and not Leanne's?

It'd would've been an interesting twist, but I don't think the writers are that astute! They've got a thing for making the characters that actually want children either barren or they have immense difficulty conceiving naturally - Becky, Leanne, Izzy. Dr Carter (love him!!!) even said to Leanne that she had very thin chances. Peter deserves to have problems with his little swimmers, but I think he's alright
