Am I the only one who thinks this?

I don't see his music life changing, and to me it all sounds roughly along the same lines.
His rapping doesn't have any versatility..

No doubt i'm going to be attacked with pitchforks now, but just thought id see why people liked him..

I actually agree. I love his old stuff, but his latest album recovery was just sooooo depressing! He needs to cheer up!

I don't understand why some people brand him the greatest rapper of all time Jay-Z is in my opinion.

Starting another anti-Eminem thread. What's the point?

Well, when you're that famous you're inevitably going to be overrated...but I have to admit, I don't particularly like him or truly understand why he is so popular.

To me, he's very hit and miss. He seems to only have two settings; angry or silly. The latter makes him come across as a parody rap act with novelty songs, and as fun as they are...I can't really imagine listening, and appreciating, them as music.

Then he does the 'serious stuff', which has produced some good songs no doubt...but he can only really do one thing and thats 'bla bla bla Hayley, I ****ed up, bla bla bla, **** you mom, bla bla bla drugs.' Stan is easily his best work, and I don't think it's surprising that none of his cliche's are involved.

The recent stuff is extremely overrated I think. Flawed or not, his earlier stuff is good...but can't say I rate 'Not Afraid' at all. It's such a watered down Eminem. If it weren't for 'Love The Way You Lie' I wouldn't be surprised if the mainstream ignored Recovery like they did Relapse.

but then in 'love the way you lie' i'd much rather it to be just rihanna for the whole song. It's a really, really great song, i just don't like him in it :/

No it isn't but i'm just saying this is the 2nd thread you've made in just a matter of months so most people have already commented in your original thread. Nothing more to be said now.

I'm not a fan, but can understand why others might be. In my personal view he is a bit overrated - his music doesn't evoke any emotion from me at all really, I just find it a bit blah. Apart from Stan, which is very good.

He was skint. He wrote great lyrics. Got famous. Rich.

Then his head got stuck up his arse. I've seen little of the talent he showed on the first two albums. The man is woeful now.

All this. LOVE Stan. I have to admit though, some of his silly rap songs are the only rap songs I enjoy, because I'm just about sick of hearing about how unfortunate life is in the 'ghetto' or 'hood' or whatever it happens to be.

His first 2 albums were awesome, since then his work has been dire. The minute he went "mainstream" and started to suck on the pop music "cock" he was toast.

If it wasn't for LTWYL, I wouldn't have brought his album. I think Kanye is the best in the game, but I respect Eminem for how long he's been going. He's quite old in terms of rap age, like Jay Z.

Eight mile, surely?

Not the best rapper in the world, not even the best white rapper in the business

That would be Sage Francis

DJ Undercutter
He wants to feed his turntable scraps
To MC Hollywood who's only fly until his cable snaps
He's a rapper thinking battles were a meal ticket
Came time for the album and he couldn't write real lyrics
8 Mile wasn't true, shit head
It was a promotional tool, but not for you, shit head

Can't have enough threads hatin' on homophobic talentless dickwad Eminem imho. Stan was great, but then so was Thank You by Dido.
