After asking everyone what they were going to buy their pets, I wonder if the pressies were worth the money..
I was going to get mine a zhu zhu pet as they love their mice. Instead I got them a a variety of toys including a squeaking mouse, several other bumble mice (pull chord and they bumble along), a dangle toy, a kickaroo and some pipe cleaners (which one other poster mentioned and which I knew my male cat would love as he has a thing for cable ties
).
A major success was the furry squeak mouse which by the end of Boxing day lost its squeak and had a severe case of alopecia. The bumble mice and the kickaroo not as much as I'd hoped, the pipe cleaners a major hit and suprisingly the home made santa hats stuffed with rustly plastic and catnip were a huge success. Home made blankets knitted by my mother were also an instant success.
Unsuccessful were many of the nibbles. No to the milk drops and catnip drops and biscuits and a major yes to the chew sticks.
In conclusion, the home made stuff (corks, triangles (folded crisp packets), cable ties and curtain rings) is the way to go with my two.
Oh and you can make up your own mind as to whether this home made creation was a hit or not although I promise he was purring at the time.

His sister wasn't as impressed though.

. I have three keys missing from my laptop because her 'thumbs' caught in them, she is the heaviest footed cat I know. More claws = more pain when I get swiped. Mind you, when her thumbs get attached to things and she can't let go, she does let me have a little go at them with a nail file
