I used to drink on my own ( preferred it in many ways ).....ended up on a Priory absolutely f*cked ( it took a long while ) and havent drunk for years ...terrified of it now though I would NEVER get all holier than thou with people who DO drink ......I hate that kind of thing . Reformed smokers for example who start with the lecturing really get on my nerves .

Of course not.

I have a man who pours it in my mouth for me.

Yes. A 4-pack and some fried chicken sat down watching UFC or Saturday Night's Main Event. If I'm not out on that saturday with the lads that is. Bring it on. I've normally got some stuff in the cabinet or some beers in the fridge.

I do occasionally - maybe a glass of wine with food on a weekend. This week I've had a cold, so did have one or two "hot toddys" on my own too

I much prefer drinking in a group though.

I do.
Obviously its not as good as drinking socially but sometimes its nice to just have my music and a glass of something and I really begin to relax.

Yep, I do it all the time. I know that probably makes me a saddo or maybe worse, but I like to have a drink and listen to music when I'm on my own.

Don't often drink at home, normally just at Christmas - bought some cans of Fosters at Christmas and haven't touched a drop as I've been full of a cold, so looking forward to enjoying a can or two next week!

Do you eat by yourself?

Why should drinking be any different? If you like something why should you wait for others to be around before you can enjoy it?

And me. As soon as I get in from work i'm in to the kitchen, telly on the the food channel and crack open a bottle of vino before starting the evening meal. Then (and only then) all is well in my world. Good food & good wine cannot be bettered, even by sex.

If I waited to go out before having a drink, then I'd never drink! The only times I go out really are for my dance class nights, and I don't drink at those because I'm driving. Most other nights I have a glass or two of wine with dinner and while I'm watching telly. Not much, just a little bit because it's nice.

Yeah, I don't get drunk on my own, but I like a good beer or glass of wine or something in the evening while listening to music and reading, or watching a film, or watching the tennis.

I don't really know about "acquiring a taste". I love the taste of lots of different drinks and always have. There's such a wide variety, it's not just one flavour.

Only when i go out. If it wasn't for going out and getting wasted I would probably hate alcohol and never touch it.

I've just had a Baileys; I seem to have been given loads as presents, and I don't want it to go off.

As a deliberate rule, I usen't drink on my own, then one day I though, shit - I'm over 40 years old, I can do what I effing well like.
So now I do. The odd bacardi and coke when I've had a crap day at work (was very often in 2010!) and I've never had more than two, but never wine - I never want to drink that one my own, I only drink that socially, when having dinner with friends.

I like the odd drink at home now and again (and again, and again), though I prefer to drink in a pub where I can get a nice pint of real ale. I do have some tins of Fosters in the fridge though, and may have one or two while listening to the test match later tonight (I'm supporting England, despite having Fosters )
