The sly trilogy
Hi all,
I'm assuming this was a remake of a PS2 trilogy? I have never heard of it before because in my PS2 years I was only 6 ![]() So, what's the basis to this game. Is it like R&C? And, finally is worth buying? |

Do you like Platformer? If Yes, continue.
Do you yearn for a good platformer game? If Yes, continue. Did you not have the chance to play this on PS2? If Yes, continue. Can you pick this up cheap? If Yes, then go right ahead and buy it! |

In all honesty, promotion wise, Sly didn't get much, I didn't even know there was a third game out! You always heard about Ratchet & Clank and Jak and Daxter more!

Can't recommend this one enough.
I got it for christmas and have completed the first game so far, just moving on to the second. They are brilliant platform games (which are too rare for my liking these days ) The game keeps mixing things up and throwing new challenges and play styles at you. The core mechanics (the character movement, jumping and melee attacks) are fantastic which makes moving through the levels an absolute joy. I really miss games like this. Oh, and the graphics look great, the cell shading really seems to suit the HD treatment. Now - if they would get around to doing 'Ratchet and Clank' and 'Jak and Daxter' collections I will be a very happy customer. |

I've only played at little bit of it so far (completed the first world on Sly 1) & I'm really enjoying it. I was a little disappointed that the levels weren't Move compatible, just minigames, but that's my fault for not reading about it properly.
The graphics & sound are fantastic & I'm hoping to get a better play on it tonight. The levels are a little linear but you can chose which level you want to do in each of the worlds in any order. It's just a good old fashioned, frustrating platformer which is lacking this gen. I recognise the voice of Sly but can't think what I've heard/seen him in? Oh, & it's trophies galore!!! A couple of questions though, there are vaults to unlock if you collect enough bottles(?) but some of them are hard to get to. Do you get more powers further in the game so you can go back to previous levels to get them? What are in the vaults? |

One of the vaults in each level contains a blueprint for all the other levels. This highlights where the bottles are on your binoculars. Very handy for finding the last couple. |

Do you obtain most of the trophies from completing levels? Or is it you have to go back in and do them for example get x amount of coins?

Most of the trophies come from either level progression, beating bosses or unlocking the vaults (which means collecting all the bottles in each level.) |

So the bottles aren't essential in completing the game, they're more of a bonus?

2 cheapest places I can find it are play.com and amazon.co.uk
Both have it at £24.99 which is pretty good. Another question then, are all 3 games on one disc and you choose which one you would like to play? Or are they separate? |

I've yet to pick these up (and I am very tempted).
Anyone realise how InFamous is, simply, the same game? ![]() Running/sneaking around roof tops, using wires to cross to other buildings? Still can't take anything away from either game though, Sucker Punch did a fantastic job! |

Are these games a decent length? Unlike COD which focuses online gameplay nowadays.

The first one took me about 10 to 12 hours to platinum. My initial impression from the second game (only an hour or so in) is that it will take a bit longer. It is a good value package.

This finally arrived yesterday, played quite a bit and have got 50% through so far, seems pretty easy but is also very enjoyable.
Having never played the PS2 version I don't know what this looked like originally but I though for a PS2 game this HD remake looks pretty decent. @Roge8014 its shocking how much stuff has been borrowed from Sly to make inFamous and yet both games have a very different feel to them. For anyone enjoying this, a game to look out for is Mini Ninjas, its not a great game, but if you enjoy this type of game its really enjoyable and very cheap. |

But you're right; both are made in comic book style, but they play very different. |

Sly 1 is short and easy, Platinum in less then 2 days ![]() Had a quick go on Sly 2 and that seems a large improvement so far, after the first mission its opened up to a mini sandbox world with missions to do. Seems even more like inFamous, I had to do a mission switching satellite dishes on. |
