Surely all babies are not born absolutely identical.

But, a mother is not going to believe that someone has stolen their child. They are going to believe that they have simply made a mistake. Especialy since Kat barely saw her child alive. She didn't think it was her baby at first, but excepted that it must be. I mean she isn't exactly going to start accusing people of taking her child is she?

there would be blatently obvious differences, many connected to that child would know this not even necessarily the mother - forms including details such as eye colour from hospitals etc etc

must admit i dont watch it, but no chance in hell this could be made in any way believable

show is rotton to the core, utter rubbish in every sense of the word

I thing every mother would recognise their own childs smell!
I know it may sound strange but both of my babies had their own distinctive odour- which I believe only I could smell. And know I don't mean soiled nappies.
This was particularly apparent in the first few days.

Most Caucasian babies are born with blue eyes, which later change.

I remember my sister telling me that when she was in the hospital having just given birth to one of her sons, she could always tell when one of the nurses had given her son a hug because the smell would be slightly different for a while

Kat didn't get to spend much time with her baby while he was alive and I don't think anyone would suspect their child was swapped for a dead baby because, as far as she was concerned, her baby was being looked after.

So you've never had a child and are just guessing, my son never had his bloods taken, the babies in ee were born pretty much at the same time so that rules out age, eye colours are usually blue when first born and then change, they don't note down the hair either my son was born very dark and within a few days the colour had lightened plus the hair falls out, features such as eyes, a nose and mouth which every baby has, can't think of any markings that would have made my son distinct nor my nephews or friends children, not every child is born with a birth mark. Babies at such a young age change so quickly, they can all look pretty similar, not memorable to anyone who has only given them a quick visit.

Also they would have seen a dead baby, from my own personal experience people often look different when dead, if your told this dead child is yours then why would any normal person think it wasn't.

My sons talipes disappeared before he was 2 weeks old. Alas I can't remember how early as I didn't give it much thought. I didn't realise that talipes was club foot until I just read this thread or I would have been more concerned.

Well most parents I would think would take pictures of the baby when its born, its just too far fetched if it happen in hospital I might have been more inclined to believe it, but otherwise no just unrealistic.

BIB - And there goes your argument. How on earth can you judge something you've never even seen?

I have a point to make.

If Kat was so convinced, and absolutely adamant that the dead baby she was seeing wasn't hers, and despite Alfie convincing her it was just grief talk, why did she not pursue it further? Ie get tests done, proof that the baby was Tommy. (Or in reality not as the case is)

Surely if she knew from the off that the baby they were looking at wasn't hers she would have wanted to prove it to them. Unless she did think she was just grief talking after all?
